- All you newbies should listen up. Do you want your account to be hacked? No, I'd think not. This is a guide to help you understand to keep your account safe and how to avoid falling into careless mistakes of hacks.
The Steps On Creating a Strong Account;
Step o1... Create a strong password. Use numbers, dashes, letters everything you can use that you'll know and others won't. Be sure it's something you remember not something you'll forget. Jot it down on a sheet of paper and store it somewhere safe were you can always grant access to. You can also store it on your computer using 'Notepad'. To get to Notepad click the Start button at the corner of your screen. Type 'Notepad' and click the first result. Type your password there and save it. If you forget your password it'll always be there.
Step o2... Post, vote and surf around Gaia so you can make some gold. Then once you've made about 1,000 gold go to 'Games'. Play any of the games there are to play and complete them. You will receive prizes such as gold, tickets or credits. Tickets and credits can be exchanged for big prizes. gold can be used in the Marketplace and Shops to buy cool items for your avatar.
And FINALLY...
Step o3... Be nice to other Gaians and you may receive some donations. Begging and such won't work, you have to earn your gold not beg for it. Don't download any bots online, it's illegal and against the rules on Gaia Online. Your account WILL be terminated. Buying Gaia Gold off the website is also illegal and you will be banned. Play by the rules or don't play at all. Gaia is much better when you earn your money not get it illegally.
The Steps On Keeping Your Account Safe;
Step o1... DO NOT tell ANYONE, NOBODY, ZIP your password. It's very important that you keep this information to yourself. If someone claims that they are a Moderator in a PM and ask you for your username and password REPORT IT AND DO NOT REPLY! This is a scam, Moderators have green usernames, if their username is black DO NOT give them any information. Not even a real Gaia Moderator will ask you for your password, EVER.
Step o2... If you open a thread or PM and a pop-up window shows up asking you for your username and password just close the window. Right away, report the PM or thread and explain the situation. DO NOT fall for these it's a scam. Gaia won't pop up asking you for your username and password. It'll never happen, so don't fill these out!
Lastly...
Step o3... If you click a link and it says that you are logged out of Gaia, look at the URL/Address Bar. If it doesn't say 'www.gaiaonline.com/whatever' report the link to a Moderator. Gaia doesn't log you out, it's just a fake website a hacker made to get your password and hack your account. If you fell for one of these CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY! Report the user who was posting the link too. He/she is the one trying to hack you!
