Vampire Lore
Vampires have been spoken about through the ages, but their skills and abilities vary drastically. Most which is told are lies, fantasy created by storytellers for dramatic effect or the vampires themselves.
Truths
Vampires are immortal, and unageing. They possess a supernatural strength, and agility far superior to that of any human, and require the life blood of others to retain this power. Vampires need blood to remain immortal, without it to rejuvenate them, a Vampire will weaken and age, but will never die, only live in a state of agony and be to week to rise and feed. Though only a small amount of blood is needed each night for a vampire to remain in their perfected form.
Vampires have an unnatural charisma about them. People generally enjoy their company while in ignorance; though most, when the realization of what creature stands before them, fall into a primal terror. Pray before the predator.
Vampires can often influence others around them, dominate the minds of those weak willed and fearful.
Sunlight, a stake through the heart, or blood starvation are the only true ways to stop a vampire, though they are bound by mortal means of transportation, and obstacles.
The only way to become a vampire is to take the blood of one and drink it, while the vampire drains you of your life.

Lies
A vampire cannot turn into a bat, nor mist, or any animal or manifestation other than their self. Vampires cannot fly, or walk up walls, nor do they all have red eyes. Crosses, garlic and holywater have no effect upon them, though many vampires love to pretend this true to give mortals the false hope of protection.
A vampires bite heals as any other wound, it does not turn you into a ghoul or any other such creature. Vampires can eat things beside blood, but it has no effect on them other than taste. They do not need to eat food or drink, it is for purely pleasurable or social reasons.
