Amera as Mello:
The DN cosplay theme was Amera's ultimate ruse to play her favorite anime character...and also a way to get back at Jackie for making her dress as the least popular Sailor Scout the previous Halloween. And yes, even when she's cosplaying, Amera absolutely refuses to remove her bandana; it's like it's glued to her head! But she still makes for a good Mello, insanely-compulsive personality and all! With her father's old "Mellow Yellows" jacket and some of Jackie's leather cast-offs, she steals the show! Unfortunately Julian wouldn't let her create any homemade explosives, for fear she may use them to demolish Luigi's Bistro. Plans foiled, yet again!
Oh, and I was very disappointed that Gaia didn't have a little chocolate bar I could equip her with. CHOCOOOOOLAAAAAATEEE!!
Julian as Matt:
Who would be more perfect to play the Matt to Amera's Mello? Good thing Amera convinced the normally shy and reclusive Julian to suit up and join the party, because he's a pretty convincing Matt, even without the DS system...or the sexy car (try hijacking a subway train--it's not easy!). Though I'm sure Amera has shortened his lifespan considerably by forcing him to take up smoking again. And of course Ray has to tag along, on patrol for hot yaoi action! But given the circumstances, I don't think this MattxMello pairing would be considered yaoi...though I'm a fan of any MxM pairing ^__^
Bradney as Light:
Amera promised Bradney that the "Death Note" prop she'd equipped him with was thoroughly cleansed and had been touched by the fewest number of hands possible, but this Light Yagami knows better! If Gods of Death love apples, then they must also love having sticky juice-covered hands. Forget cleaning out the scum of the earth, this notebook needs cleaning first!
Jackie as Misa-Misa:
Of course, Jackie jumped at the prospect of finally getting to wear her "Gothic Lolita" ensemble, and for the record, she doesn't find Misa as annoying as Amera and most others make her out to be. Though the likeness is uncanny, Amera and the rest agree that the fake Misa-Misa is far more irritating than the real one, as she instantly begins filling her fake Death Note with the names of her pop rivals.
Tracey as L:
When Jackie told Tracey she'd claw her eyes out if she didn't let her play Misa, Amera managed to save the day by talking Tracey into playing her favorite male character, L. Amera also offered to give Tracey two black eyes, to "complete the look," but Julian stepped in with Jackie's eye pencil before any blood could be shed. So, justice is served. Though, according to Tracey, that justice is artificially sweetened and calorie-free. And perfectly pedicured.
Jack as Mikami:
Everyone knows that Teru Mikami is a nut job. And everyone knows that Jack is a nut job. But the main reason for this cosplay is because Jack just likes to show off his gorgeous hair. So when Jackie gets tired of walking around like a gothwhore, Jack steps in with his sexy locks and even sexier Buddy Holly glasses. He makes several unsuccessful attempts to "delete" the Religious Right, and those idiots who hand out toothbrushes instead of candy. Worthless Shinigami eyes...
Alas, Lou would've cosplayed as Near, but a man of his girth in kiddie pajamas was just too disturbing for the rest of the group. Plus, Near doesn't have facial hair...or look like Colonel Sanders...In fact, I really don't like Near at all, so that's why he's not part of this cosplay.
But to be fair, Amera offered Lou a part as Watari, to which he replied, "Aww, but Watari is so lame!"
