Grimoire of the Symphony
Chapter I
She stood outside her apartment building. Well, more like a loft you'd see in New York city. She pressed the button to summon the elevator vigorously, impatience taking over. She's had a long, excruciating day and wanted to avoid her neighbors and their constant questions and fake concern. The elevator slowly came to a halt just beyond the silvery doors before her, the red numbers above them flashing a large, roman numeral I.

As the doors opened, she waited for a moment for anyone to evacuate. No one came through, so she slipped in quickly and pressed the thirteeth floor button. It flashed blue in acknowledgement and she pounded on the "Close Door" button vigorously with her thumb, watching out of the corner of her eye as a man in a fancy suit briskly walked up the hall toward her. It closed before he made it to the door and she sighed in relief, turning her attention to the glass wall of the elevator.

It was around nine o' clock, so she could see Steel City in all it's glamour. Thousands of neon signs, television bilbords, and sleek trams flashed rapidly. As usual, the rain pounded down on the city and a fine fog rolled through the streets, just thin enough so drivers and pedestrians could go about safely. Steel City was one of the last standing, civilized cities in England. The rest of the world was majorly populated by Them.

Bing!

She finally reached the thirteenth floor and the elevator slowly stopped, the doors opened, and she hurried out and down the all. It was so cramped, she almost felt like she was living in a hotel. Eyeing the doors as she passed them, she made her way to the last four rooms in the hall. The two on the left were unoccupied and the two on the right were her's and her friend's. Numbers 92 and 94. She unlocked room 92 and slipped in quietly, shutting the door behind her.

It was then she spotted the little, black envelope lying in the middle of the near empty room. She approached it slowly, picking it up curiously. There weren't any BioChem threats in Steel City right now, so she wasn't too worried. She carefully peeled the thin paper apart and pulled out the white card within it. After a moment of examining the unsigned envelope, she read the card.

We have the same goals. Meet me at the Archive. November Fourth. Come alone and be careful.
