As the unstopable rays of light fell across the room like rain, the frosty cell was revealed. Musty though it was, the damp cellar floor upon which the despondent explorer lay upon slowly but sure enough heated as daylight spread. Across the cobweb covered corners were shelves holding many bewitching elements inside large jars or petite vials. Behind the figure spread akimbo on the cobblestone floor stood the dustiest looking table anyone could ever stand to behold.
The fringing, forlorn figure raised his eyes gingerly and silently grasped for his blade. Under the bright archway there now stood a husky man short in height but wide in shoulder and lo, he kneeled over the traveler.
"Be you exasted, Kahn?"
Suddenly tensing, Kahn raised his weary eyes to the dense farmers. "How is it, sir, that you know my name?"
Almost mockingly, the farmer grinned and stated briskly, "You told me."
"It is of ridicule that you speak, sir." Shaking from the troment of aching legs, Kahn lifted from the ground.
"Tis true, you told me but two days ago."
"Sir, it be a fact that only two days ago I be traveling in the darkest corner of hell. That of mine, that is."
"Mayhap that be true, if think this ground hell, you do, then work it harder you will."
"a** that you are, you have not a clue of that which you speak!" And with that, Kahn rudely elbowed the farmer aside and made for the door.
"Kahn!" called the farmer, angered now by this abrupt squabble of an insain man. "What the bloody Mastedon are you babbling about?"
"Tempt me not, sir!" came the cold reply. "I answer not to men. Especially not those who I know not."
"Kahn! I know your name! And it be a fact that I know of your birthdate, your family, the land on which you live, and many other facts of importance to you and mayhap me. Now tell me this: How could it possibly be true that I don't know the man who has worked my feilds for four years?"
Kahn shook his head but before he exited the room he answered. "Once again I say, old geizer, that I know you not!" He left.
