リズム天国ゴールド ... or Rhythm Tengoku Gold if you prefer English, is a rhythm-based game for the DS. The Japanese version was released at the end of July 2008, the English version had apparently been announced (though I have low hopes for it). A few years ago there was a Rhythm Tengoku for the GBA, but it didn't catch too much attention, since everyone was playing the DS by then. Shame, because it was a great game as well.

Gold so addicting! blaugh If you liked the Made In Wario series then this game is worth looking at, since they're made from the same group of people. The music (being such a big part to this) are very nice and also addicting to listen to. There are a few songs from actual Japanese artists too. If you were one of the few who did play the GBA version (I'm one of them!), then you'll regonize a lot of guest appearances. Also, Gold is significantly tougher and longer than its prequel.

You play this game by holding the DS sideways, like a book. You control the game on the touch screen while you view what's going on on the top(now left) screen. The controls are straightfoward too, more than 90% of the time it's with the stylus: tapping, holding the stylus down, and/or flicking. The rare exception is a guitar game where the L/R button (depending on if you're right or left handed) is used. Speaking of left-handed, there's even a handy "Left Handed Mode" at the title, which will completely flip the game so you can play on the left and view the game on the right. Replay value is high too. If you do well on a stage you'll get a medal. Collecting more medals unlocks some extra games or "rhythm toys." And if you get a medal at a stage the game will randomly challenge you to a Perfect Campaign, where you have to get a perfect performance on it. Do so and you'll unlock something, either music for the sound test, or something to read. The ultimate goal, therefore, is to get all medals then complete Perfect Campaigns. It's harder than it sounds!

Feel free to Youtube this game, there are already plenty of gameplay videos uploaded. Feel free to ask me a few things about it too! (if you're even reading this xd )
