and i'm not even hungry


driving to work today
...
i realized that i have a huge pet peeve when it comes to traffic people

we're driving 55 mph down a 2-lane small highway thing
life is good

then you see all these signs saying "RIGHT LANE CLOSED 1 MILE AHEAD, MERGE LEFT"

then more "RIGHT LANE CLOSED"

all these flashing lights and barricades and nonsense

so the lane is closed, everyone slows down (it's the law) and now we're all squished into ONE lane and driving 40 MPH

for what?

nothing.

absolutely nothing.

there was a hole on the side of the road
nobody was working
no trucks, no construction
just a hole

so they blocked off a half-mile of road, inconvenienced tons of drivers for what??

so we could pass safely by a hole that was off the road - in the grass - with nobody around

yaaay


our tax dollars hard at work stare
