there is a living city surrounded by forrest but a mile east there is a destroyed city, because of what happened (which is unknown) the other town does not take kindly to strangers in the town and if they find them as vampires they are treated very unkindly. the only building that seems to be standing slightly in the building is an asylum or test lab in the middle of the city with a graveyard right behind it the tombstones crumbling. everything is always black and depressing, setting any happy mood into pure sadness.
