Utterly psychotic and unpredictable, there's no telling what this unhinged M.D./sorcerer might do next. And he's not just your average fruitcake muttering to himself on the corner. No, not at all. He is armed with years of extensive medical training, access to all the medical supplies, facilites, and drugs he could possibly want, more money than you can shake a stick at, equally depraved friends in high places, and an unsettling perchance for magic of an unpleasant sort. And then there's his weirdo eye (usually hidden by his stylish hair), and his detested half-brother, whose head and spinal cord he keeps in a jar, in hopes of attaching it to the body of one Tsuzuki Asato, a virtually indestructable shinigami (guradian of death) (ghost detective), who Muraki-sensei's grandfather, also a doctor, drove to insanity and suicide. And when Tsuzuki finds out that Muraki is responsible for the rape, torture, murder, and cursing of his beloved partner, teenaged empath Kurosaki Hisoka, the midden really hits the windmill, as Sam Vimes would say.
Anyway, there are some parts of this that I'm very pleased with, others not so much. This whole thing was inspired by the Blood Moon, which is one of the several indicators that Muraki is Up To Something. Consequently, many of Muraki's and Tsuzuki's climactic showdowns take place bathed in bloody light. The hair I got perfectly, I think. The shirt, pants, tie, and shoes aren't really important, but I tried to get them as respectable, doctor-like, and normal as possible. His duster, I'm not real pleased with. Muraki's signature wardrobe's most important feature is his long, white trench coat, the exact opposite of the long, black trench coat, which is the trademark of the hero, Tsuzuki Asato. I dunno, it just doesn't look right. The dignified little reading glasses are another, smaller trademark of his. When he takes them off, you know that the kindly, altruistic doctor veneer is coming off, and the brutal serial killer that lies just below is emerging. The potion is another thing I'm not too proud of. I was looking for some sort of vial or test tube, but this is the best I can do. It stands for his habit of using medical advances and technology to create untold destruction and suffering. The hex circle is actually canonically applicable, as he has used magic circles to entrap and torture Tsuzuki, or anyone near and dear to him. The severed head is supposed to be that of Saki, the hated half-brother I mentioned earlier, although it could be Tsuzuki's, because decapitation seems to be Muraki's eventual goal regarding him.
