Stories of a Random Life
On gaia I like to write a lot of stories and this is where I save them for the future. Also my random quotes are also saved here.
Soldier's Campaign
Halo Fanfic!

Spartan-068 sat there against the wall clutching his battle rifle closely. He was huffing from exhaustion and he was covered in covenant blood. He was going to make a last stand. He was sitting on his own. His team had fled leaving him to fend off the army of covenant coming from the monstrous ship now casting a shadow over Halo. His Team had been sent in to extract Master Chief after he had finished off the Prophet of Regret, but the temple that was supposed to be there was destroyed and the ruins were plagued with covenant landing ships. There was no more time to think or come up with last regrets. Spartan-068 was prepared to fight.
Spartan-062 pushed himself up off the ground and walked over to a rock. He turned back and saw the downed Pelican burning, the marines inside dead. The Covenant would pay for the deaths of his team. He scrounged around the Pelican and finally found what he was looking for, his sniper rifle, magnum, and a worn out, and now burned picture of a young girl in a dress. He caught the sounds of a shot far off and ran towards the sound hoping for a marine that had survived.
Cody had made a foolish mistake when he decided him and Zach should split up. They had not split up since they met long ago at the orphanage. Now he was trapped in some ruins taking down wave after wave of Covenant jackals. He was running low on ammo and running low on hope. An Elite stood in the doorway brandishing a sword. Cody closed his eyes thinking he was done for. He heard a thud. Opening his eyes he saw the elite sprawled across the floor. Cody rolled him on his back and saw a hole between its eyes. Another shadow came to the door. This time it was Spartan-062. He signaled for Cody to follow him. They dashed out the door shooting down jackals. They eventually came upon some more ruins. They seemed recent and they were covered in covenant drop ships. "Mark, you think this is a good idea," asked Cody. "You know my Spartan number so use it," was all he said as he slid down the ledge to aid the frantic Spartan below. Cody shrugged and hopped down with them.
Spartan-068 was standing there emitting a putrid smell of sweat and blood. He turned around seeing the other two come down. "Cody! Why did you do this? I was giving you and the others a chance to get out of here alive." Zach shook his head and wondered why they would do such a thing. Hundreds of Elites were running towards them. They shot wildly into the crowd mowing down the Elites. This was still not enough to stop them. A thundering roar rose from the distance. Over the Spartans' heads warthogs flew into the fray as pelicans dropped the soldiers on all sides. One soldier came up to the Spartans and escorted them to a pelican.
It was hard to hear what he was trying to say over all of the shots, but finally the Spartans made out three words. "No more Spartans." There was a general confusion among the three. "It appears that the Sergeant believes you Spartans have not been looking out for our own men. This is your final light." The setting sun cast a shadow a small ray creeping through the window. Over twenty soldiers surrounded the pelican. The Spartans looked at each other in disbelief. The soldiers raised their guns. Zach looked past the soldiers. He was trying to figure out what had just happened. Suddenly he thought he saw something moving behind the soldiers. He fell flat to the ground pulling the other two with him as a barrage of fire from the Elites in active-cammo ambushed the soldiers. The soldiers turned in time to see their last sights. Honor guards holding a sword in each hand. There were screams and Zach scrambled to the cockpit. In moments the pelican was off the ground. Cody manned the turret to keep the Elites off them. Mark sat on the bench shaking. In his hand he held a picture tear drops falling down onto the paper. His helmet was off and his brown hair glistened with sweat. His green eyes were watering and he had a scowl on his face. His other hand clenched tightly about his knee. Night fell. A single pelican flew towards the stars.
