I was listening to video game Midi files tonight. They always sound better if you listen to the ones from older games such as megaman or pokemon, because they'll sound closer to the actual thing. Well, I was listening to some old Pokemon gold midis and my mind to a trip way back..back before I ever moved to Georgia, back to when I was little. I was living in our old apartment in Chicago. Back then I was so small and I never thought about half the things that concern my mind now. I use to sit up on my bed playing Pokemon on my gameboy all the time. Or I would sit in front of my small TV and play my SNES. I would always play Yoshi's Island cause that was my favorite game. Even now, Yoshi's Island is my favorite SNES game and I still play it. (cause I take good care of my things XP ). Then I remembered sitting in my bed, playing with the little clay figurines I use to make at home and then me and my friends would play with them during break at school. I remember my school, Council Oak Montessori. It was a very unique school. It was just my type of school, so different from average public schools and I will cherish it always.
The things that made me cry as a child I can look back on and laugh and say "It wasn't worth the tears" (accept for when my little sister spilled syrup on my Pokemon Blue RIGHT AFTER I got mew. unforgivable!) Now I look back on the things that made me very happy as a child, that made me feel special. I find that I miss that carefreeness. When you realize that there are many things hurting you at once, physically, mentally, and emotionally; you too could come to miss the days where you squealed if a boy said he liked you, or believed someone had cooties. You might actually miss when your nana use to pet your head on her lap or your mommy use to take you every where with her. When it was just the both of you and your daddy wasn't around and all that mattered was family. Why? Because they've been there from the start and they'll be there in the end. Back then you could throw a tantrum, now you have to do better. You have to get over it. But wouldn't it be great if you could delete all the hurtful memories of your past and only keep the comforting ones?
Life is easy in the beginning, but the longer you live the harder it gets. It's an unfortunate game we all must play, but one day it'll all end and you won't even have to think anymore.
