Bedtime Story
Turning off her bedroom light, the girl quickly ran to bad. She hid herself under the covers, scolding herself all the while.
" Come on, get a hold of yourself. You're a teenager now, you're too old to believe in boogymen..." the girl told herself. When she was younger, she always thought there were monsters under her bed. She would ask her mother to check for her, but her mother would simply tell her to stop being stupid.
" Nothing is under that bed of yours except dust bunnies."
She was right, it was foolish to think about ghouls and monsters, especially at her age, yet whenever she peered over the covers, her heart seemed to skip a beat.
She turned on the radio at her bedside, thinking maybe that might calm her nerves a bit. However, all she found was dead air. This wasn't new, few radio station were on this late at night, but oh, how she hated the silence.
Now she was laying on her back, staring at the celing. She closed her eyes, and felt her pulse slow to a relaxed rythem. She was beginning to drift off to sleep when-

Scratch

Her eyes were wide open now, and her began to beat rapidly. Slamming her eyes shut, she shook her head and said in her mind, " It's not real, it's not real, it's not real," over and over again. Her heart began to race, and she imagined cold, dark shadows creeping up from beneath her bed to steal her life in the night. Finally, when she felt she could take no more suspense, she opened her eyes, and turned on the light.
There was nothing. The girl's room was the same as always. Her bed was untouched. The only things under it were her shoes. Satisfied, she shut off the light, and slowly fell asleep.

She did not see the dark hands reach out from under her bed.
She did not see the sharp, red eyes, glowing in the pitch of night.
She did not see the claws curl around her fragile body.
She did not see the creatures as they dragged her into the darkness.

The next morning, the girl's mother knocked on her door to get her up for school. When she recieved no reply, the mother decided to wake her personally. Open the door, she found that her daughter was gone. The room was untouched, there was nothing out of place except for a small piece of paper on the bed. Coming closer, the mother could see that it had something written in blood. Holding the paper up to the light, the mother read the message.

You should have checked.

Not all of them, but that one was kind of like a rabbit with rabbies.

Fluffy...but vicious, deadly, and a wee bit gross.
