Midna's POV Chapter 20~
~Link and Midna~
-Chapter 20-
-Thoughts-

Midna's POV:

I didn't understand. In fact, it felt as though I didn't understand anything anymore. Link had just fallen into a state of memory loss, the kind where it is almost impossible to get him to remember a thing at all. But the part I could not comprehend entirely was... how? How could he not remember my face, at least, just a little bit? I was so unique in so many ways. How could he forget? By the looks of it and how he was talking, he seemed as though he could not remember his own name. Had he seriously forgotten everything? The answer to that would be: Yes. He had forgotten everything. It is true. It is all true. He can not remember his own childhood friend, Colin, Uli and Rusl, nor Bo nor Epona. Nor me. It hurt to know that for a fact.

Once Link had pushed me away, I knew instantly that it will be a zero out of a hundred chance that we will be able to regain his lost memory of everything he once loved. Zero out of one hundred. That was how much I had lost hope on everything.

After trying over and over repeatedly again and again to help him regain something, I went outside, shutting the door quietly behind me so no one would notice my absence.

I know now that Link no longer wished to see my face again.
We tried everything; and failed. We tried for many hours on end, almost all night for him to remember something, but to no avail. We tried bringing him to Epona, to his own home and hoped it would trigger something.

We tried everything, and failed.

Jumping on the back of Twilight in a less-graceful manner, I tightened my grip on the reins as we trotted out of the village, her hooves just barely contacting the ground as we exited to the front entrance of Ordon village and heading back out into Hyrule field.

Memories of Link and I's adventures flooded endlessly through my mind right at the first glimpse.

I remembered myself as merely an imp; a child of the twilight. The world of light had been enveloped in darkness. All of it was because of that idiot, Zant, who claimed himself as MY KING, and the "other" idiot, Ganondorf who thought he could get away with his evil deeds!
I felt foolish for not having a care in the world about what would happen to the world of light; to my friend.

Princess Zelda.

Now was a good time to shed my tears. The clouds overhead were making sure to cover every corner of the sky, all of them a dark grey. A thunderstorm was soon to come. It looked depressing.

Another reason to shed tears was because... well, you know: the trouble with Link's memory loss. I couldn't believe that happened. Why would Zelda want to kill Link?? And after all that he has done for her... was it all for nothing?
Another possibility could be that someone possessed her. I know Zelda too much. She would never go on the dark side. Let alone Ganondork's side.

Oh yeah, she is definitely possessed. No doubt about that.

Zelda saved my life once. She sacrificed for me... for all of her people, actually. She gave me her life in an attempt to bring me back as her last hope for peace, for she knew Link would not be able to complete his mission alone. He was only a seventeen year old boy, and a lot of times, he was lost.
Yes, she did surrender to Zant to keep herself alive and let him engulf and plunge half of the world of light into darkness. But she knew that someone would be there and willing to help, and that was Link. He was full of light, whether he was in the twilight world or not, and he did stop it. Him, Zelda, and I all fought together on the same route, and we were all able to succeed in cleaning up the horrible mess Ganondorf and Zant had left. We restored peace.

It was all Ganondorf's doing for making it so that Link had his memory lost forever. And for that, I will never ever in my entire life, forgive him...
