Okay, so I figured I haven't ranted in a while and it's about that time of year, so here we go! This rant is on Punk:
I don't give two ******** abotu what iTunes, MTV, Fuse, VH1, the radio or even the artist says, Punk died. Anything the media is playing is not punk. That was one of the main rules back in the 70's when punk was alive and thriving!
Whenever this subject is brought up, someone always argues and their biggest question is always, "well, if punk is so dead, what killed it?"
I'll tell you what killed it, MTV, the radio, major record deals, time (or rather age) Avril Lavegine, Any band that came together after 89' and of course: Herion, heart disease and post-hardcore.
What truly makes me cringe is those little hardc0rexxx rawkerz and pUnKrAwKxPrInCeSs who don't even know who The Ramones are. Everytime you call Fall Out Boy punk Joe Strummer gets closer to rising from his grave and unleashing the zombie appocylops with Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny and Sid close behind him!
To those who claim to be punk, you aren't and you're simply going to have to find someone else's scene to ruin. The only thing left of punk are a tiny handful of kids born 45 years too late who spend all their time reading and studying the books written by the real punks, knowing that they've missed out and can never truly be a punk.
