Sky chapter 23
Chapter 23
Kisa
I woke up to a cage, bars surrounding me, keeping me in. The angel looked at me with sad eyes. “Where am I?” I breathed.
“You are in some abandoned jail house that the leech found.”
“Oh. What’s jail? Who’s ‘the leech?’”
“Jail is where policemen put bad guys, and Akkiyaan is the stupid leech that put us here.”
“Leech?”
“Bloodsucker, leech, vampire, the names go on and on. Basically, he’s a brat that drinks human blood.” I cringed at her words.
“That is disgusting!”
“No kidding, but he bit me, so I guess that I’m part vampire too.”
“What is your name?”
“Man you ask lots of questions! I’m Angel, the vampire slayer.” She announced proudly.
“It must be hard.” I said softly.
“No kidding.” Angel laughed harshly. “Now it’s my turn for questions, let’s start with an easy one, what’s your name?”
“I’m called Kisa.”
“Okay then, why were you all sad and wanting to die when we met?” it sounded innocent enough, but I knew that inside, it burned.
“Because my best friend left me!” I sobbed. Angel patted my back and gasped. My eyes glazed over.
Cough. Cough. Blood oozed from beneath a woman. She looked like me, red hair, and large wings receding into her body. An eagle flew past her and out the door.
“Mama?” a toddler with short black hair reached out towards the woman.
“Leave.” The woman cried, and big men with swords bustled into the room.
“Stop, demon woman.” One barked at her. The woman grabbed the three toddler girls and flung them out the window.
“Leave! Sora, Kiru, Yuki, LEAVE!” she screamed at them, her words lined with panic.
“Bye bye, birdie.” A guard grinned malevolently. The eagle scratched at the man. A black haired woman entered the room.
“Milady…Tsubasa!” she ran towards the woman but the guards blocked her way.
“Run away, Yozakura, my time has come.”
“No!” Yozakura sobbed. Reaching out like Yuki had done. Then, all turned a lovely blue. I couldn’t see the form; it was as though I WAS the form. I felt joy in the wind. Even after that night, because I thought, no, I knew that I could avenge that woman – my mother.
Angel pulled away. “What was that?” she said in wonder.
“I’m sorry!” I gasped.
“That was amazing! Strange, but amazing!” she breathed.
“I guess that means that you are Kiru, and that I’m Sora.” I sort of choked.
“Where is Yuki?”
“In Africa, Akkiyaan fought her, remember?”
“Oh yeah. Well, I guess Kiru it is.” Kiru grinned.
“I’ve always been known as Kisa. That’s the name Hachi gave me.” I rested my chin on my knees and huddled there. It seemed as though everything I knew was a lie, or it wasn’t something that I liked.
“Okay, well I’ll continue to call you Kisa, then. Who is Hachi?”
“She is a kit-fox. She adopted me when I appeared in the Sahara desert.”
“The people who adopted me were killed by vampires shortly after taking me in.”
“I’m sorry.”

The sweet scent of irises floated in the air. A beautiful blonde woman walked up to me. “Akkiyaan, what are you planning on doing to the red haired angel?” Her golden brown eyes studied me intensely.
“She is a pretty trinket, that’s for sure. I might go ahead and make her my bride.” The goddess snorted.
“Really, Akki, I thought that you were smarter than that, your way is so, medieval!”
“She could do great things as a vampire Dianichi.”
“She is with my stupid brother, you know that! Besides, Ichidou would get her back.” Dianichi shuddered. Her demonicity intrigued me.
“You can’t turn a vampire back into a human, you know that, Dia.”
“True.” Dia lowered her eyes.
“Can’t I mess with your brother even more?” she smiled, sickeningly sweetly. A small fox raced towards her. She picked him up, and he licked her, his tail wagging rapidly.
“Do you know who this is?”Dia pulled herself from the fox. I shook my head. “This is Dianichi, my animal form.” I stared at her, wide eyed in interest. “Do you wish to be blessed with a second soul? It’s beautiful and handy, being two places at once.” The fox turned to me, his golden brown eyes glittering mischievously.

“Shishou, come on, we have to get going!” Shishou rolled over. “Shi-shiii!” he groaned.
“Don’t call me Shishi, Kisa.” Koharu approached us.
“Who is Kisa?” I turned to her.
“His ‘friend.’ She was taken captive by a vampire so she might be dead right now. Who knows?” I gazed at the sleeping Shishou. I shook him, and then dragged him to his feet.
“Shishou, we have to go to my house before my dad worries too much. Dannen is going to stay here for a while with Dani and Ichidou.” I gripped his hand and dragged him with me, Neko in Koharu’s arms. Akeru waved.
“Thank you! Bye!” I called to her. Shishou managed a sloppy wave. Ichidou embraced Shishou, and then waved sadly.
“Bye! Hopefully I’ll see you and Kisa soon!”
“Goodbye, Shishou.” The two Dannens said, the hyena looked like he never wanted to leave Dani.
“You really aren’t a morning person, are you, Shishou?” I linked our arms and pulled him with me. Neko nuzzled Koharu and Koharu stroked his soft golden brown fur. At least she looked like she was in heaven.
