35 Element Story
Our story begins with Neon and his best friend Xenon in the country of Americium. Neon is 15 years old and is best described as laid-back and carefree. He is very nice to new people he meets and is always trying to help someone who is in trouble. Xenon is extremely smart and he is also 15 years old. He is the quiet kind and only speaks to people that he can trust. These two friends live in a town called gold beach and they belong to a royal family called the Noble Gases. This place is overrun by a fierce dictator named Titanium. The country of Americium used to be a beautiful place that is until Titanium took it over causing the other elements to be his slaves.
Titanium is so powerful, that he was able to single-handedly destroy the rest of the Noble Gas family leaving Neon and Xenon to be the only ones of their kind. In order to prevent Titanium from discovering them, Neon and Xenon go by the code name of 8V which stands for 8 valence electrons. Neon and Xenon also have a friend who lives in silver city named Carbon. Carbon is best described as an easy-going person. He likes to have fun but when the time presents itself, he can be very serious. Neon and Xenon decided to pay him a visit.
8V begins their journey to silver city. They stop on a roadside store to pick up a couple cases of mercury and some calcium cakes to eat at carbon’s place. On the way, 8V meets the prophet Boron who offers some useful advice about the weakness of Titanium for a few coins. Neon gives two dimes and a nickel and Xenon gives up a quarter and a few pieces of copper. The prophet tells 8V that the weakness to Titanium is a combination of nitrogen and oxygen also known as Nitrate with a subscript or three or Nitrite with a subscript of two. “Either one will work,” states the prophet Boron. “I cannot tell you how to use it, but you will know when the time is right… trust me,” says Boron as he journeys in the opposite path. Eventually, they reach Carbon’s house. Carbon house has many gates around it made of platinum that makes it hard to get through unless you know the password which is hydrogen nonachloride.
Once in, Carbon lets them in and they begin strategizing on how to take down this Titanium overlord. 8V shows carbon the nitrite and nitrate they obtained from boron. “There is something I have that can make this a surefire way to take down overlord Titanium,” states Carbon. Carbon adds a pinch of arsenic to the mix. “This will poison him for sure. We just need a way to get into his iron castle,” says Xenon. “I know a way, we can take the road through sulfur lake which will take us to the rear of the castle,” states Neon. “We leave tomorrow,” says Carbon.
The next morning at Sulfur Lake, they were many horrible substances floating around such as zirconium and bromine. They quickly navigate through Sulfur Lake and make it to the rear castle which was guarded by Titanium’s potassium knights. They were easily taken down by Carbon’s iodine bombs. They made it into the castle only to find out that it was nothing but a huge labyrinth with no sign of direction. There were many lead indentations in the wall that looked like they were made from claws from some sort of monster. Neon quickly put on his cobalt to provide protection if anything should go wrong during the quest. He supplied Carbon with a sodium jacket and Xenon with a lithium jacket. They begin to take a path through the labyrinth. The first path was a dead end full of skulls with aluminum chains. The second path they take leads to a huge pit of smoldering magnesium. On to the third path 8V went. It seemed this was the right path as there was a huge door with horns made of cadmium on it. Carbon used nitrite to melt a hole though the door to attempt and defeat Titanium. However, he was not there. There was a large tin gauntlet full of a liquid substance. They quickly poured the nitrate and nitrite into the cup and hid in the wall crevices. Titanium came in his robe made of neptunium and nobelium. He sat down at his desk and began to drink from the gauntlet. Sweat runs down the cheeks of the 8V as they watch with curiosity. Titanium begins to choke and he starts wheezing as he falls to the floor.
8V jumps out of the crevice and start to make their way to Titanium. “My family told you that you would pay for what you have done. We warned you but you did not take heed. Do you see what you done to yourself?” says Neon. Titanium begins to cough violently spitting up nitrite and what looked like astatine. “These are my last words to you Neon,” says Titanium. “You have not won yet… you may have defeated me but soon you will find out what it means to make a fool of our organization…” Titanium died of poisoning in his own castle that night. 8V and Carbon went back to their original lives and started thinking about Titanium’s final words.
