[Intro: What IS the difference?]
After playing Brawl for like... -counts- 3 weeks or so... I thought to myself randomly one day... "How come I find Brawl more amusing then Melee when all I basiclly do is pick a person and beat the s**t out of other people? ... What makes Brawl more fun...?" I have been thinking that for more then a week now...
[Recap on my Melee history (for those who care)]
I played Melee all the time when I first got it (who didnt) and then years later... (4 years later) I have grown... tired of it... Brawl just came out and, of course, I didnt think I was getting a Wii anytime soon... I have unlocked all the characters, beat classic mode, adventure mode, and All-Star mode with all characters... unlocked all stages.... and beat all the events... so of course all I really found interesting was "Melee" option... but I always ended up playing by myself... my bro would play like one round and get bored of it and I would play like 2 or 3 and get bored of it... I needed something new...
[When I got Brawl]
Of course that one Christmas morning when I opened this box with a wii and Brawl in it I fainted for a few hours... when I finally woke, I quickly put together the wii and started playing Brawl... of course I loved it, played it all the time and etc etc...
[The Answer (In MY OPINION)]
So what does make Brawl more interesting anyway...? After playing Brawl and wondering that question for 3 weeks straight... I decided to play Melee not too long ago... Before I started... One reason that came to mind was the Subspace Emissary and the fact that you fight with people around the world... When I turned on the game... A nostalgic wave came over me and I was like "Whoa! I remember all this..." So I went to Melee and my first thought was "Is this the wrong memory card? Where are all the characters!?" After a second or so I realised that that WAS all the characters! So thats probably one reason why Brawl is more amusing... more characters... but let's continue. I picked one of my favorite characters (Roy~<3) and random CPUs and started to play... Another thing I found out was more stage options (and custom stages... maybe) also better graphics... So as I started playing (and trying to remember how to use a GC controller) I realised... it's not any different at all... I found it as much fun as Brawl!! Which that just raised more questions, like "How come, if it's the same, why did I get bored of it?" Well I believe it's because I KNEW there was something new out there... And I wanted it and knew it was "better" so I just got bored... I was thinking of what I could do with Brawl...
[In conclusion]
That is basiclly my way of seeing it... You may have a different view but thats you... Like I said... My opinion! I would love to see (whoever even reads this!!) what other people think... PM me or comment me your opinions... :]
