The vampire swung his aluminium baseball bat at my head. I stepped backwards and the bat swung past my face with so much force I felt the air bending around it.
I let out a laugh that made me sound like a mad woman. The vampire gave me a strange look.
“Aliss?” asked the vampire.
“H-how do you know my name?” I asked
“It’s me Sam”
“Sam? Sam who I don’t know any Sam vampires”
“No not from me being a vampire before I was a vampire you remember when I was getting killed and you though I was dead and you ran off. Yeah well I wasn’t dead I was close to dead but the vampire took off after you”
My mouth popped open
Sam wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled my face close to his.
“Sam you’re a vampire”
“Yeah so?”
“I’m a vampire slayer”
“So you slay all the vampires apart from the ones who don’t kill people”
“Yeah, I’m sorry but I have to”
“Aliss I haven’t killed a person since my first night as a vampire”
“Seriously?”
“Yep” he made a popping noise on the p then he kissed me lightly on the lips. My knees began to give way and when they did I stood limp in Sam’s arms.
He pulled away and began to chuckle
“You still can’t handle being kissed”
“No, I just can’t handle being kissed by you” I said
After I said it he kissed me again then disappeared. I lay limp on the ground with my face against the ground. After a while I heard some footsteps.
“Ah, look the pathetic human is helpless” the voice was merely a whisper.
I jumped up to face the vampire.
“The beautiful girl is not as helpless as I thought. But still she is merely a human”
The vampire was just a boy of maybe 15 or 16 around my age. He had spiked black and grass green eyes. He looked exactly like my Sam
“Merely a human? Merely a stupid human? I am much more than a human! I am Aliss Lullaby vampire slayer and half vampire!” I hissed at him
His eyes opened wide.
“You’re Aliss Lullaby the vampire slayer?”
“That’s what I said isn’t it?”
“I know all about you”
“You do? What did you do study me or something”
“Yes pretty much, as soon as I saw you I was well let’s say in love” he said while he circled me.
“How much do you know about me?”
“Your full name is Alice Lullaby Montressa your sister Felicity is missing but not dead, your mother was murdered and your father was captured and made leader of the Reniflards de mort clan-”
“Wait my father was captured?”
“-yes now let me finish, you live with two old vampires called the ‘Angels’ Charlotte and Stephanie, right?”
“Yeah that’s right”
“And you have been known to let vampires well I can’t say live but you get my drift, if they swore not the feed from a living human again” he said as he stopped behind me and rested his chin on my shoulder.
“Yeah sometimes”
“I was wondering now I know who you are if I could be given that chance but-”
“There’s a but?”
“-yes I want to come live with you and the ‘Angels’ okay?”
I shoved his head off my shoulder and pulled out my phone.
I dialled Char’s mobile number.
“Char?”
“Yes hello Aliss”
“Can-”
“I already know and yes tell Conner he is welcome into our home as long as he doesn’t feed from a living human for the rest of eternity or as long as he stay on this earth” I could hear her voice get louder as she raised it above the noise of the lunch time rush.
“I’ve got to go Aliss, kiss kiss bye!”
“You can stay Conner but you must swear you will never feed from a living human for as long as you’re on this earth” I pulled out a quill and ink pot and a small slip of paper from my pocket.
I walked over to the rubbish bin in the alley.
“Spit in the ink” I said as I held out the ink pot.
“Why?”
“It has to be signed with some sort of DNA, if you get spit on my hand you won’t be here anymore”
He spat in the ink pot carefully as if not to get spit on my hand.
The slip said
I …………. Swear I will never feed off a human for as long as I am on earth
Signed:……………………
He slowly signed his name on the slip as soon as he finished I snatched the slip and shoved it into my jackets pocket.
As I walked off I thought I heard him mumble touchy then he started to follow. When I got to the dead end in the valley I just kept walking until I was walking up the wall. Conner stared after me. “Cool huh?” I laughed then I started to run as he jumped from wall to wall. When I got to the other side of the wall someone grabbed me and put their hand over my mouth.
“Shhhh….” Someone whispered in my ear I turned around and saw Sam I relaxed and watched Connor walk past where we were hiding.
