today I went with my dad and my little brother to an ice skating place in Topeka. Hmm, well my dad was going to some gun show dealio but the ice skating rink was in the same building (it was a huge building at that!) so he just let us goof around there while he was off admiring the evil weapons. I’m not all that fond of guns, in case you can’t tell. Though when I was younger me and my older brother used to shoot soda cans with BB guns whenever we were at my grandparents house…but now I don’t know that I’d particularly enjoy that as much. Anyhoo, back to my ice skating story! So we got our skates on and went to go attempt not to kill ourselves on the ice. I’m usually pretty good after about five minutes of practice. I just kind of pick these things up easily. But my little brother? Eeeh, not so much. So I spent like the first half our or so going around the rink with him while he kept one hand on the wall and the other holding onto me. Then I started edging him off of the wall and after awhile he actually got the hang of it! Yess, a HUGE accomplishment as an older sister, if I do say so myself! All these years at our ice skating rink he’d always been on the wall holding on. But then again, I’d never really helped him much those past years, because my mom was usually there or something. So yes, I got him off of the wall and actually got him to skate! (woo!!) after awhile we got kind of tired though, I mean seriously, those things absolutely KILL your ankles! Our snacks consisted of m&m’s, popcorn, and some warm sodas (yumm, right?) oohh I have to go! I guess the story will be finished later, or never. Toodles.
