Just saving this stuff sincee I'm erasing my comp
Untitled

The winter wind blew across the barren land of Dradien, whipping up
the snow in serpntine formations, drifting from the ground reforming
into small piles along the snow bank.
The full moon shone through a gray sky of snow clouds threatening the land
with promises of frozen paradise.
Children slept warmly in their beds, mere miles fom what would be known
to man kind one day as a wasteland where not even the wild dessert cactus of Aretia
could root themselves in hope of survival.
They dreamt happily of childlike things. Wooden toy horses and sweets as far as the
eye can see, but that was the last thing entering Cassandra's mind.
She found herself stranded in the land that would one day be the vast dessert.

"How do I always get myself into these predicements.." Cassandra grumbled.
Pulling her wolves mantle close to her body, tying the hood tight.
"This is the last time I listen to a merchant who can't keep a straight face."
Cassandra trudged on, her cat's tail twitching away from the ground every
few steps she took, due to her bad habbit of just letting it drag behind her.
Her tail of coarse worked like any tail, Cassandra was just too lazy to keep
track of it.
She grumbled, wading through the snow, cursing it through gritted teeth.
"Don't blow up the earth, don't blow up the earth..."
She paused, the hood of her makeshift coat perking.
Turning with mere seconds to spare Cassandra jumped landing in a massive snow bank.
"What the ********!?"
She sat up, growling low in her throat.
There before her stood a massive form. It stood a little taller than a normal male
human being. A lupine face came close to Cassandra's face snorting loudly.
"You..." The creature spoke, his voice grissly and deep.
"You are not human, why are you here?"
Cassandra sat up, staring at the creature.
Two golden eyes stared back at her, from the lupine face.
She watched his brown fur bristle as the winters wind blew past them.
A flurrie of snow speckling them both.
"Why are you here?" He repeated.
Sighing Cassandra swept her hood off , pulling her long main of moonlight hair from
her face and neck. Burning upon her forhead a red jewel shone, encrusted into her flesh.
The Lupine creature sprung from her, bowing deeply.
"Lady Vixena!" His voice was tense, fearing what Cassandra might do to him.
She stood, brushing the snow from her mantle. "Balthazar... Nice to see that you have
not yet escaped your curse..."
The Lupine creature named Balthazar chuckled deep in his throat.
"Yes. Your father isn't the most lenient demon as you might know."
Smiling warmly, Cassandra replied in a soft tone. "I'm sure your curse will lift
in time."
Balthazar sighed heavily. "I suppose. But if I may question?" He bowed his head.
Cassandra bowed hers in reply, allowing him to ask his question.
"What brings you to my neck of the woods?"
She sighed heavily , looking to the sky, watching the snowflakes dance upon their
entrance of the earths night aky.
"That is..." She paused thinking of a way to explain why she would take such a
treatorous trip. "Complicated." Shefinished lamely.
Balthazar cocked his head, as if questioning. He looked over his shoulder, sniffing
the nights air. He put a humanlike hand across Cassandra's shoulder's.
"Come Lady Vixena.. It is not safe here."
Cassandra looked around, her right eye, the color of molten gold, scanning the area.
"Yes, I sense that you are right. I don't know what it is but I'm picking up a human
like aura..."
Balthazar stood over, placing his hands to the ground , offering his back.
"My home is not too far, I will take you there."
Smiling Cassandra mounted him like a horse, intertwining her fingers in his soft fur.
"Hold on tight!"
Balthazar pulled his legs back, than with a rush of wind behind them he took off into the
night, Cassandra clutching to him tightly.
~*~

Balthazar stood before a small mountain of a hill, chanting in an undertone, his paw
like hands stretched before him, palms out.
A grinding sound could be heard from within the mountainess hill, two of the rocky formations
in the front of the hill began pulling from each other revealing a small cavernous hole.
Cassandra dropped from Balthazar's back, landing soundlessly in the fresh snow.
"Wow, nice to see you're living well."
Balthazar gave her a wolfish grin. "It's all thanks to those incantations you taught me."
Chuckling lightly Cassandra nodded towards the cave. "shall we?"
Balthazar grabbed Cassandra's arm, tugging her gently into the cave, the rocks sliding together
behind them.
"Oo, a timing spell. Very classy."
Balthazar let go of her, leading her through a dark tunnel that opened up to a well lit room.
The room was filled with the stench of dead animals, and wolve dander. But this did not
bother cassandra by any means. She knows how hard it can be to get an apealing meal,
but than again Balthazar being a high class wolf demon he would prefer raw meat to something
cooked.
The cave walls were draped with velvet ribbons of fabric, clawed and torn in many places.
A massive bed, seemingly stufffed with feathers sat in a back corner, a mountain of blankets
made of the same velvety fabric that hung on the walls.
Cassandra , turned to Balthazar smiling. "You've done well for yourself."
Balthazar grunted, taking a few steps towards a massive fire pit located near the bed.
" As good as I can for now. I've crafted everything myself... But of coarse my wolven
tendancies get the better of me sometimes." He said waving his hand at the torn fabric.
"Are you hungry Lady Vixena?"
Cassandra sighed. "Must you call me by my demon name? You know how I hate it."
Balthazar bowed his head, smiling his wolfish grin. "Of coarse I know... But it is just
how I have been raised to see you."
Balthazar dragged the carus of a deer like creauture from a corner filed with snow.
Cassandra knew that there was more than just a few deer laying around in his makeshift fridge.
"Would you like me to throw this in the fire?"
Looking to him Cassandra smirked. "Yes, why would you even ask?"
"Well... I know you enjoy a raw piece of thigh in your gullat time to time. You may only have
half of your heritage coming from a demon, but I know you fall to those demonic needs time to
time. I remember when we used to travel together. I caught you with a bird hanging from your
jaw!" Balthazar laughed heartily, shredding the skin from the remainder of the deer.
Cassandra sat upon the makeshift bed, emediately sinking into it. Feathers flew up around her
tickling her nose.
Balthazar finished his task, tossing the carcuss into the fire, embers flying from the fire
quickly dying out.
Balthazar aproached Cassandra, sitting down upon his arches a few feet from her.
"I am sorry for what happened earlier Cassandra." He used her Favored name wincing as if he might
be struck. "Your scent and aura have changed. I thought you may have been human."
Cassandra giggled, stroking his head. "well, I can't be too angry. It just proves to me that my
makeshift spell is working."
Balthazar gave her a quizical look. "B-but why would you not want anyone to be able to find you?
What if you were in trouble? Not a demon in the area could sense your distress."
Cassandra stood sighing heavily, beggining to pace. "Balthazar... Can I confide in you?"
"OF coarse! I would be honored to lend you my ear." Balthazar stated , jumping from his
feet.
Cassandra paused in her pacing, looking to him. "I must ask this... Just as pre caution.
Can you see my face?"
Balthazar blinked, is Lupine eyes widening. "I hadn't even noticed... But no, just your eyes."
"How did you know it was me?"
Balthazar thought for a moment. "When you spoke.. I heard the angelic undertone, impossible of
any other demon."
