True Love(Ch.19)
Chapter 19- True Love

What the hell had Lin just said!? Did he just ask his dad for me to go with him!? Fat chance! I'm not staying in his room! The dark lord eyed Lin, and they began speaking in the other language, that Lin spoke with the wizard before. I took a breath, and decided if I should shift, and get out of there, or stay here and suffer with the man who stole my heart, and won't give it back. I exhaled, closing my eyes, and opened them to see both of them staring at me. Oh great. I felt my face go red, and I frowned. Dammit.

"Fine. Guards, take them to a guest room" he pointed at Maya and Jason. He then looked at me, and I glared back at him. "Lin, you may take her" I felt like attacking him. What the hell? He should of said no!

"Maya!" I yelled at her, to come save me or anything!

"Candace, I know your mad, but there's nothing I can do!" she yelled back just as loud, trying to see where Jason's wounds were. Was everyone abandoning me?

I gave a frown to Maya, and Lin dragged me towards his room. We walked toward the large color-less seats that were probably gold, or some fancy color that that, and I looked at mom. Did we really lose her? Lin suddenly turned, causing me to fall a bit, but I caught myself before he could do anything to help me.

We headed up a stair case, and I gave one last glance at my mother, slowing down a bit. I wanted to run and hug her, to tell her all the things we learnt over the years, like we did those years ago, but Lin pulled on my hand, telling me to hurry up. I gave him a glare, and pulled my hand away, still walking behind him. We got to the top of the stair case, and we walked past a few large doors, eventually making it to the last door. He opened it for me and I slowly walked in.

I stood at the room's entrance, shocked by the size. Our hut looked claustrophobic compared to this one room. It looked stunning, even if it had no color. Everything seemed to match in the same style, and it even had a built-in fireplace. Lin must of saw me staring, since he gave me a smirk. I looked at him, and gave him a glare.

"Candace... let me explain.." he began, not knowing what to say.

"No Lin! I don't need your pitiful excuses!" I yelled at him. I hoped the doors were sound proof.

"What? It's not an excuse!" he called back

"First you come to capture us, then you make me fall in love with you, then you steal my first kiss, and then you take the rest of my family to your damn father! What's next?! Are you going to throw me out of the window?" I yelled pacing back and forth in the room, throwing my hands up in the air. I took a glance a Lin, and he looked mortified, although I'm not sure at what statement I made.

"Candace.." his voice sounded very quiet

"What Lin?" I asked harshly

"I'm sorry" He turned away, and left the room. I think I heard the door lock, but I'm not sure.

"... whatever." I walked towards the window, sitting underneath it.

I pulled my knees to my chest, and pulled my blue rabbit between my legs and my chest. I took a shaky breath and exhaled. I put my rabbit's head on my knees, and put my head on the rabbit. I just want everything to be normal again, like how it was four years ago. I felt my tears flow onto my rabbit and closed my eyes. I let out a loud sob noise, and attempted to wipe my eyes, with no avail.

I cried for what felt like a couple hours, my eyes and face probably stained with tears. I heard the door click and it opened. Maybe it was locked. I kept my eyes closed, not checking who it is.

"Candace.. I brought some food for you" Lin placed a tray on the ground next to me, at my right side. I cleared my throat a couple times, to make sure it didn't sound hoarse

"I'm fine" I replied, not moving from my position.

"Whats wrong?" he asked, sitting next to me. I guess it was obvious I had been crying.

"Nothing"

"Seriously."

"I said I'm fine" I wiped my eyes again, my rabbit falling out of my lap

"What's this?" Lin picked it up, and I turned my head the other way, looking away from the food. I stayed silent, as he looked at my rabbit stuffy.

"It's very well taken care of" he passed it back to me, and I nodded.

"My mom gave it to me when I was seven" I stated, turning my head, looking at Lin again.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you" I wiped my eye again, trying to get red of the tears, my stomach growling for food. He gave a laugh.

"You should eat something" he pointed a wooden spoon at my face, with a couple berries in it. I shook my head.

"I don't want to eat right now" My stomach feels like it shrunk three sizes. He placed down the spoon, and I closed my eyes again.

"You should go sleep" he gave me a pat on the shoulder. I shook my head as he took his hand off my shoulder.I didn't want to sleep in this evil place.

I thought about everything that was going on with this screwed up family. Nothing made sense anymore. Not that it really ever did. I felt more tears running down my face, as I was lifted off the ground. I shot my eyes open, looking around the room, getting a freaked out look by Lin. I struggled to put my feet on the ground, and he carefully placed me down on my feet, and gave me an apologetic face.

"Sorry.. I thought you were sleeping" he replied, taking a few steps back. I shook my head, and picked up my rabbit that fell on the ground.

"It's okay" I walked back to the corner by the food and the window.

I sat down again, putting the fruits into my mouth one by one. Who knew strawberries were so good off season? I took a quick glance out the window and could still see everything. It had probably only been half an hour

"Will you listen?" he asked, I nodded. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't hear his half. He sat down next to me again.

"It wasn't me who called those soldiers to your hut.."

"Oh yes, it was the boogy man, wasn't it?" I rolled my eyes at him.

"No. I'm Serious. Why would I ever want to hurt you?" he looked into my eyes for a second, but I turned my head away.

"I don't know. Why would you?"

"..Because I don't" I looked back at his face, trying to find some piece of evidence that he was lying. I shook my head, looking at the ground again.

"Everything is just so messed up... and I can't do anything about it"

"Heh. Isn't everyone's?" I looked at him and gave him a small nod. I closed my eyes, placing the right side of my head agenst the wall, facing Lin's direction

"I'm sorry you think it's me who called them, but I didn't" I opened my eyes again, to find his face close to mine

"I have a feeling I know who it is, though" I scrutinized his face as he spoke

"Who?" I asked him. The air felt oddly heavy

"Your dad"

"Master Lin, dinner is ready" A male's voice called, before I could reply to him

"Coming." Lin called back. He suddenly bent down, so his mouth was at my ear. The air suddenly seemed normal, as if what he had just told me didn't happen.

"Just so you know, you were my first kiss too." He took a step back, turning to face the door.

I watched his back, my mind going blank, as he walked to the door, opening it and probably locking it again. I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding, putting my fingers on my lips. At least it was both our first time. My face felt hot and I shook my head. I really did blush too much.

"Candace" I heard Maya call me

"Yes?" I wondered around the large room. Dad called them to us? I picked up a picture frame of a beautiful woman.

"Are you okay? I heard you yelling before." She sounded like she was laughing at me.

"I'm fine... and no comment" I carefully placed it back down.

"How's everything with you and Lin?"

".. Much better than before"

"Jason is doing alot better now" Maya told me

"Is he alright? Did he break anything?" I sat back down at the window, thinking about that wizard. Some father he turned out to be.

"Two ribs and his right arm." Maya must of cried alot

"Ouch, are you okay?" I looked at the berries, pushing them away from me.

Why couldn't we just have a normal father? First he leaves us, only to find out he serves for the dark lord, then he blinds us, stealing mom away, before she could help us see in color, then getting her engaged to the dark lord, and now he brings us here?
Fantastic parenting right there.

"Yeah, although some of those soldiers are pretty rough" I gave her a nod, and realized that she couldn't see it.

"Yup" I felt myself cool down. I had to worry more about finding Maya and getting out of here

"Where is your room, anyway?" I asked her. I stood up, watching the sunset into the horizon. It was so beautiful from here.

"I'm not exactly sure, but it's definitely not near to Lin's room" I heard the door open and Lin came back in, with another tray of food. I slightly rolled my eyes.

"Here, I figured you might be hungry." he placed the tray next to my feet, moving the other tray away.

"I'll eat it tomorrow" I bent down, and pushed it a bit away from myself, although it smelt delicious.

"Okay." He put the tray onto a stool a few steps away and I looked back out the window

Lin honestly didn't seem like he did call them to our hut.. Not to mention that the wizard was nowhere insight when we were caught.

"How do you suppose he called them, then?" I glanced at Lin

"Secret" he gave me a small wink, causing me to smile.

"That doesn't give me any evidence you didn't call them" I shook my head.

"..You'll just have to take my word for it" I felt him stare at me.

I looked back out the window and lowly murmured some words, that would call the butterflies to me. Three of them came, and they landed on my hand. I already missed the hut. Two of them played on my fingers, as the third flew to Lin's hand. I turned to look at him, and gave him a smile. If Lin was evil and had betrayed us, these butterflies wouldn't fly to him, yet alone land on him. He took a few steps to my side and I moved over a bit so he could stand next to me, as he looked out the window with me.

"So then, is this place filled with your guards?" I asked, referring to the ones who stood on the grass, all around the castle.

"Something like that" He looked at me, as I kept my face forward. I looked down at the butterflies, and put my hand out the window, so they could leave. Lin did the same with his hand, and they fluttered away, going back to our old forest

"Do you think they'll be a chance that I can go back home?" I asked, placing my elbows on the window still, resting my head on my hands.

"You could shift, couldn't you?" he asked and put his hand on my head, as if he was scared I was going to leave.

"Yes, but what about Maya and Jason?" I glanced up at him, and he looked speechless.

"Yeah." I agreed with his silent comment.
I looked at him through the corner of my eye, turning my head a little to face him. His face looked so... innocent. I turned my head to fully face him, blinking a few times. His eyes had the same look as when he first kissed in the meadow.. As if I was the only one who mattered to him. I straightened myself by standing, giving a small stretch. He suddenly grabbed my waist, pulling me into a hug. I looked up at him with my eyes wide, but he just gave me a smile. I wrapped my arms around his body, and put my face into the middle of his upper chest, taking in his scent, closing my eyes. I was seriously alot shorter than he was. I opened my eyes, as I looked back at his colorless face. I gave him a grin, now wrapping my arms around his neck, standing on my toes to match his height. I brought my lips to his, closing my eyes, and tightened our hug. He kissed me back, eventually pulling away from me to breathe. He put a hand on my cheek, my head leaning into it. I placed my hand over his, looking into his eyes.

"I love you"
