Chronicles of Claive Ilusta
The Journal and log of Claive Ilusta, Kithnalian Immigrant
Homecoming (Chapter 20-4)
I found myself feeling weightless, back in my human form, and surrounded by pure white. "Aw, crap. I screwed SOMETHING up." I said out loud. "You shouldn't have done that, you know." I heard a little girl say. I turned my head and saw a young girl with long silver hair wearing a white gown. "You're a naughty boy, Claive. You shouldn't mess with history." She wagged her finger. "Just who are you anyway, you judgemental Loli?" I asked. She giggled. "I'm known by many names and faces. I'm the being that governs the Multiverse. You know me as the Goddess."
"I... I had no idea... I'm sorry if I offended you, my Lady."
"Oh, I'm offended, alright." She floated over to me. "You time traveled and messed with the past. That's no good."
"I just want to save billions of innocent lives-"
"That's a lie. You just wanted to save your family."
"So? I love them more than the air I breathe!"
"Still," she said, "you broke one of the cardinal laws of your faith: no time travel."
"So what if I did?! If that's what it takes to bring them back, then I renounce you, and work solely in the name of justice!"
"Justice?! I AM justice! All that happens is only because I let it happen. Many of the worlds Nefilhame purged were full of vile, despicable excuses for life-"
"And what of the ones that weren't? Please, explain how you justify the slaughter of billions of innocent people?! TELL ME!" I grabbed the Goddess by her shoulders and shook her. "Please... just tell me why..." I asked as I began to cry.

"It was for you," she finally said. "I saw great potential in you, the likes of which only comes around every few hundred years. You would never have come this far if I hadn't thrown trial after trial at you. You tested the very limits of your mind, body, and soul to reach where you are now."
"Then could you do me a favor, if you've taken a shine to me? Can you make it so none of this happened? If realizing my true strength comes at the cost of the lives of the ones I hold dear, then I don't want it." The Goddess smiled and said to me, "Who's to say it DID happen?" She lifted her finger and poked me in the forehead, and suddenly, my senses rushed back to me as I lay on the ground outside Chaniss.
