Surrendering to slumber,
My heart begins to wake;
My soul stirs a restless path,
To the core of a peaceful lake.
A lake serene in it's setting,
Surface smooth as glass;
Never hinting at the chaos,
That churns within it's mass.
Light on the outside,
Brilliant and white;
Darkness deep inside,
That the light cannot hide.
For evil lives in the darkness,
With anger, hatred, and bitterness...
They combine to wake the Devil,
and His vengeance is His kiss.
That kiss of heart and soul,
Has taken it's toll on my mind;
For evil lives inside me,
And I beg to wake to the light.
