Getting There
4laugh Okay, a week has gone by. I've learned so much about Gaia, and there is a lot more to learn as well.

mrgreen I spent $500 on a trading pass so I can move items between my Avi and others... to get one you need to go to the Isle of Gambino, go to the Bank and buy one. Was able to give LadyAnia a skirt and some gold so she could get started. One thing I also found out was that the game items (tokens, fish, junk, flowers and trash) cannot be simply traded, they have to be sold in the market. Transactions do not cost any gold at all. Yay. 3nodding

Then I went back to the bank after recovering my gold and bought a Vending Pass for another thousand gold, and opened my own store. It works like eBay sorta, in that you can put things up for bid or sell them outright. idea Higher quantities sell better than lower quantities.

Trash and bugs and flowers aren't worht anything, but they do sell because they can be traded at certain shops for items like hats and other neat prizes. I once was told about someone looking for tin cans for 5 gold apiece, though Ol' Man Logan will only pay 1g each... so I am going to take my cans and go to the market and try to sell them for a little more. Helps them out by getting them what they want, and helps me out by recovering my gold faster. stare

My next thousand coins will go to reserving real estate. YES, I said real estate. Going to buy a lot to put my house on... and if within 24 hours those people on my friends list would like to live in my neighborhood too, just let me know. I can put up to 6 houses there.

arrow arrow Walking around towns: Go to Barton Town... and go to the Train Station. It will take a few minutes for it to load because there are graphics and there is sound, so be patient. Walk to the other characters and talk to them, get a feel for the game program.

Click on the Navigation globe at the top. It will show a grid of 100 squares. Each square represents a zipcode.

Click on a square. A sub-map will pop up with nine blocks. Each block has a number:

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

Each grid is the same for all the towns... 1-9. In the #5 block, the one always in the center, there are 3 bots. Each bot is for collecting items... the left one is for bugs you catch with your net. The middle one is for flowers you dig up, and the right one is for trash and junk you collect.

When I buy my lot I'll have my own address with zipcode, and others who build there will share the same coordinates. How neat. I understand that I may be able to sell one of my vacancies to a bidder, but I'm not sure how that works yet.

Got almost enough gold now to take the next step.

Wish the real world was this way, life would be easy. But, in a way I'm glad it's not, because real life would be boring.
