The blare of the alarm clock jerked Lancet out of his sleep, and he hit the top of the bed above him, which caused his roommate to snort and turn. Lancet looked at the red numbers, which read 1:30, and were blinking. He was late. He quickly threw on a shirt and shoes, and almost dashed out the door without pants. He was soon out of his room and on his way to Computer lab 05, going to meet the rest of his friends. He had to pass by two rental cops, also known as campus security, and walked through the ducktaped door. A soft scrambling of feet told him only a few were actually there. Lance gave a low whistle, which gained volume and then went back down. "Hey Lancet" came a greeting, from the table to his right. Mack stuck his head out, the big grin still on his face. Lancet waved as well, before sitting down on a desk by the door. Another voice, this one low and reassuring issued from the corner. " 'Lo, Lance" The black young man larger than most kids in his Physical fitness class stepped out of the shadows, his teeth glinting from the moonlight. Aledo, or Al. Lancet shot questioning eyes at them, and they both tapped their watches, meaning that the girls were late. Kaylee was the first to show up, almost tripping over the chair by the door when she gave her whistle. Lancet nodded in greeting, while Al and Mack both actually said hello.The next was Erica, who was silent till she sat at her station. She gave the signal after opening her laptop, and turning the dimmer all the way on. Last but not least, was Stephanie, short and cheerful. She was ready to start telling a story about how she escaped the guards, but Al cleared his throat, meaning for them to get started. They all either logged into their own computers or the labs, signing on with obscure admin profiles to avoid detection
