Marraige is a Serious Word(Ch.29)
Chapter 29- Marriage is a Serious Word

"WHAT?!" Maya screamed, the forest going silent.

"You don't have to yell.." Jason looked at the ground

"But.. You were serious!?" Maya slightly yelled

"What?! You thought I was joking when I asked you?!" Jason raised his voice.

Maya now stood on her own feet, staring at Jason in shock as he stood up.

"No! I just didn't imagine you.. would.." Maya's voice trailed off

"Oh. Thanks. ..I'm taking a walk" Jason suddenly stormed out of the area that we all now stood in, his figure fading in the distance.

Maya shot her hand out, as if to grab him, or tell him to stop, but she pulled her hand back as he was now out of sight. She almost whip lashed her head, as she turned in the other direction, stomping in the opposite direction, her face red. We all paused for a second, but I looked at Lin as he nodded once. I began running in the direction that Maya went, as Lin went in the direction that Jason went. I came to a stop as I heard sobbing come from the general area that I was in, as I turned around to see Maya crying into her lap, leaning agenst a tree. I quickly ran next to her, hugging her.

"Maya, what did he ask you?" I asked after a few minutes went by

"He.. he told me before that he was going to.. marry me, if we got out of the castle a-alive.. But I didn't think he seriosuly meant it.." She sobbed back to me

"Oh..."I tightened my hug

I stayed silent, as I didn't know what to say to that comment. She wiped her eyes a few times, as she was probably done crying. I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, as I turned my head to see Lin's face. He pointed behind him, as I looked past his head to see Jason standing awkwardly. I nodded once standing up, Jason quickly taking my spot of where I originally sat. Lin quickly pulled me away into another section of the forest. I gave a strange look to the back of his head, almost as if he could see it, though I don't think he did. Lin suddenly stopped running, causing me to run into his back. I stumbled back wards, as I held my nose, glaring at him.

"Tell me next time you're going to suddenly stop!" I playfully yelled at him rubbing my nose

"Sorry." he simply replied, hugging me

"No it's fine" I mumbled into his chest, hugging him back

He sat down agenst a tree, as I sat in his lap looking at the sky.

"I can't believe how different the world is in color.." I leaned agenst his chest

"Is it really that much different?"

"Oh, you wouldn't believe it"

"What I don't believe is how big and green your eyes are" He wrapped his arms around my waist

"I don't believe how much more attractive you look with color" I laughed, as a grin spread across his face.

"What did Jason ask Maya?" He suddenly asked

"Oh, did Jason not tell you?" I looked up at his face

"No. He wouldn't." he patted my head

"Oh. He asked her to marry him if we were to make it out alive of getting my parents back" I looked in the direction of where Maya would be sitting

"Oh." he replied putting his head on top of mine

"Hey Candace.. I was wondering if you would..--" he was cut off by a rustling in a bush.

He and I looked at it for a second, then looked at each other oddly.

"What the heck was that?" I mumbled standing up

"Uh.. I don't know"

I stared at him blankly for a second

"Are you blushing?!" I laughed loudly, turning my body to face him with a big grin across my face

"No..?" he smiled at me

"I can't believe I've been missing your blushing face! Look how cute you look" I pinched his cheeks

"Hey, no pinching" he pinched my cheeks back

I laughed as I let go of his cheeks, smiling at him.

"Wanna head back?" I grabbed his hand

"Sure" He replied as we headed back to were mom and dad were.

I skipped along the dirt ground, humming to myself. It would be nice if I could sing out loud, though who knows what trouble that may cause? We made it back to where mom and dad sat, with no Maya or Jason in sight. They were probably still busy.

"Is Maya okay?" Mom asked

"Yeah. She should be fine." I replied playing with Lin's hair as he sat on the ground.

"You Okay?" I asked, hopefully not ruining anything.

"Yeah. Much better than okay" I paused as my eyes went wide at what that sounded like, but shook my head as everyone looked at me

"Don't ask." I mumbled, resuming my hair game with Lin's head.

Dad looked like he could chop it off this instant with his glare. I looked at him strangely, but he just smiled, turning back to mom to begin another conversation. I rolled my eyes, now leaning on Lin's head, my arms hugging it. Maya and Jason suddenly came out of no where, holding hands and laughing like two year olds. I rolled my eyes again, as I looked up at the sky. It was getting dark. I paused for a second but shook my head. I didn't have to be scared of the darkness anymore.

"You okay?" Lin whispered to me

"Yeah. Just a little worried how my first night will be with color" I mumbled, awkwardly laughing a bit.

"It's okay. The forest isn't as dark as you'd imagine." I rubbed the back of my hand, as I nodded once.

Jason and Maya sat down next to us, as mom and dad suddenly stood up

"We have to go somewhere, but we'll be back before it get too dark" Mom spoke smiling at us.

Maya and I nodded

"Okay" I spoke back to her now sitting beside Lin.

They both walked off in another direction than Maya or Jason went in, holding hands. I almost didn't want to know what they were going to do.

"I'm hungry." I spoke

".. That was random" Maya replied back

"... It's the truth." I slightly glared at her.

"Well, we don't have anything, so your going to have to wait until mom and dad gets back" She began playing with Jason's hair

"Oh.. Fine." I grunted

"I'm going to take a walk around, then" I stood up, Lin standing up right behind me

"Don't get lost, be back before sundown" She looked at the sky.

"Yeah yeah" I mumbled as Lin and I walked off

"Have any idea of where we're going?" Lin asked grabbing a hold of my hand

"Nope. Just going to see if there's an open area or a field anywhere."

We walked for a while, but we got to the end of the forest edge, coming to a large open grass field. I smiled as I ran to the middle of it, tripping on my dress, falling face first into the ground. Lin came running to my side, kneeling down next to me.

"Are you okay!?" he asked as I rolled over on my back. I let out a loud laugh

"Better than okay!" I quoted Maya, laughing again.

I suddenly shifted into a blue bunny, hopping onto Lin's lap.

"Aw. Fuzzy Candace" He patted my back, as I lay down on his lap.

I closed my eyes as Lin stroked my back. It was like having a back massage at some sort of spa. I heard Lin say something, but it only sounded like a mumble. Maybe my hearing was going bad, even if I was a bunny. I flopped one of my ears up, as a fly flew next to it.

"Candace.." Lin poked me lightly

"Hmm?" I tried to reply, but it came out as a nose twitch

"Candace" Lin poked me again. I rolled my eyes, jumping off his lap, turning into my normal self

"Yes?" I asked looking at him

"Would you.. Would you.. " His face went red

"Would I?" I looked at him oddly

"Oh, it's getting late.. Do you wanna start heading back?" He avoided his own question

"Err.. Sure" I raised one eyebrow, but stood up, holding onto his hand.

We walked back to the forest in silence. With every step we took, it got darker, yet I was still able to see. The sun was fully set by the time we got back to Maya and Jason, yet I was still able to see. Lin pulled me aside from where Maya and Jason sat, tugging me to sit on the ground.

"I need to ask you something" He mumbled, looking at me

"Okay.. Shoot" I sat down next to him

"Okay.. I was wondering if you.. wanted to.. marry me"
