Conviction is the key. Without conviction, nothing you do will sit right.
Kaiser Super Persona Issue #1
Kaiser stepped back from the body, breathing heavily. He raised a hand to wipe the sweat out of his eyes, but paused when he saw how much blood was on it. Damn it. This wasn't supposed to happen. The young man tied to the chair before him was barely recognizable, his face beaten until it was a formless mass quietly oozing juices onto the front of his uniform shirt. Kaiser sighed and wiped his hands off on a spare towel. That always happens. If you had just talked when I told you to... Oh well. It was too late to do anything about it now. He'd just dump the body out in front of one of Veidt's buildings and try to pin it on a bad guy.

As he dragged the deformed carcass of the Veidt goon along the passage outside, Kaiser went over what little he had learned from his interrogation. One, Veidt did not have what he was looking for, which meant that the last three months had been a waste. Two, that they had something similar to what he was looking for, which would have to do for now, but the kid hadn't known where it is. Three, if you hit a guy in the face hard enough, he will die, not matter how tough he is. That was really kind of unfortunate, because Kaiser had a terrible time keeping his victims alive when he got frustrated. It defeated the purpose of being an interrogator. He would have to find a tougher subject to question. Maybe one of the supers? But that would be difficult, probably more so than he wanted to deal with. Even with all of his fancy toys, he still wasn't a match for most supers in a direct confrontation. Sneaky was the way to go. Out-think the bastards.

Nudging the door open, he verified that the coast was clear and hauled the body over his car. Into the trunk went the poor kid, then Kaiser drove away as quickly as he feasibly could without attracting attention.

Why did they always insist that he wouldn't be able to get any information out of them? They must know it just wasn't true. What did they think the knives on the table were for, exactly? Damn kids thought they knew everything. Kaiser shook himself violently. These were evil thoughts, and he wasn't like that any more. The corpse in my trunk says otherwise, but that was an accident. Totally doesn't count.

The place was up ahead. In training, he'd always been told to avoid dumping bodies in broad daylight, but it wouldn't have the same effect if he left them for it to find the next morning. This way, they'd see him bringing their missing security guard to their front door all casual-like, and wonder what kind of psychopath would do such a thing. "Shake them up like a can of soda," his mentor had always told him. It was good fun if nothing else.

No, stop it. Bad thoughts are bad. Just get it over with. Kaiser stopped the car by the curb, drawing the eyes of the men on door duty. Waving hello, he went around to the back and opened the trunk. When he was sure they were watching, he lifted the body out and tossed it on the sidewalk. By the time the guards had registered what had just happened, Kaiser was already a block away. Crap. Well, time to try again.
