Okay!
So, I'm oh so excited about the new games coming out for Kingdom Hearts (Birth by Sleep; 358/2 Days), and in my excitment, I've been creating theories for the new characters and their relation to the old ones, =D
First off, my theory on the connection between Namine, Kairi, and Xion.
I believe that when Kairi's heart was originally taken from her body (the beginning-ish of the game), Xion was created. And then when Sora had Kairi's heart and used the keyblade to return it (thus removing it from his body) Namine was created, making her able to manipulate Sora's memories at the same time. (Plus, Sora's heart was removed, creating Roxas, blah blah blah)
Next, my theory on Terra, Ventus, and maybe Aqua!
Okay, this is more complicated and probably more wrong, but anyway!
Since Terra has a similar name trait with Riku, it's assumed he has a connection with him. Firstly, at the end of the Birth by Sleep ending in Final Mix+, we see Terra's eyes glow yellow, like a heartless. I believe that Terra might also walk the same path Riku will/did, the path to light and darkness, and the power to wield both. Although, that seems to be all the 'connections' he has with Riku, besides the more obvious ones (Sora and Riku = Ventus and Terra, blah).
And before I go on, I just want to say, I HAVE NO CLUE WHY VENTUS LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE ROXAS.
Anyway, as for what I've seen so far concerning Aqua, I don't see anything that signifies a connection with Kairi other than her name and her voice actor (being the same as Xion...).
And Ventus is just as mysterious to me...
HOWEVER, I have a theory that maybe Terra and Ventus were the ones to pick out Sora and Riku as potential keyblade wielders?
Then there is the whole, 'New monster!!1! Unbirths?!1!?', yeah...
Now for Old Man Xehanort! (Damn, he's old...) I have a couple of theories surrounding him, but I'll only name two.
First, I believe that he might be the Xehanort we see as the appretince in the second game to DiZ/Ansem and some whack experiment he did turned him old and immensely more powerful. (like the witch/queen in Snow White)
OR it's a new guy and the shadow/appretince we see following him is the Xehanort we actually know, and later takes his name (once Old Man is defeated, cause we all know Terra, Ventus, and Aqua will kick his butt!)
Uhhh, any other theories I had may have skipped my mind for now, but these are my most believed (in my own world).
I can't wait for the games to come out so I can see how utterly wrong I am!! =D
