Anime Central report, and EI predictions
Of course. Those of you who are here for the predictions, here they are:
-Gogh Reed
-Anima
-Another RIG will come out(XD. Nothing to do with EIs, but it's a prediction nevertheless)

And that's it. Yet another small update week.

Anyway.. ACEN report.
I had fun at Anime Central, per usual- and my cosplay was successful this time. YAY! But I did have a few gripes, which I'll discuss later.

Friday-
Got there late, thanks to a certain sibling deciding to make a Pokeball prop at the very last second. Needless to say.. everyone, my parents included, were PISSED. We got there near 4 PM(>_<;.), and immediately went to the Dealer's Room. Only to find that it unfortunately resembled a run of the mill flea market versus the anime filled room that's normally there. Most of the stores were trading card stores, comic book shops(which only sold old manga), or they sold clothes. There were very few stores that sold anime merchandise, or anime itself- I think there were maybe 15-20 of them- out of 75! sad . Normally, there's 50 of them out of 75. But nope. >_<;.And the ones that DID have merchandise sold only keychains that came out 5 years ago that everyone has(and if they were unique, they were rather pricey), or they sold figures that were either a. from series that are highly obscure- more than likely dating sims, or were Final Fantasy. There were some stores that carried trading figures, but those were far and few between. And if they did carry them, they were from obscure series, or Haruhi Suzumiya. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Even Sasuga books failed this year! >_<;. They only had artbooks from dating sim games- aside from Arina Tanemura's new artbook, one from Gundam Seed, one from Shin Megami Tensei, a Zombie-Loan artbook, and a highly overpriced Oh My Goddess artbook. >_<;.
In all, all I bought Saturday, after three hours in the Dealer's Room, was:
-a Shugo Chara keychain(I can't remember her name- she's the blond girl who eternally wears Lolita)
-a Sugar cell phone charm from the Artist's Alley
-A Misa Amane plushie
-Karin book 12, Negima 21, and Negima Neo 1(I initially wanted to refuse to buy manga, as I wanted more rare merchandise, but NO. It wasn't to be found.)
-A CLAMP trading figure(got Sakura in her Thunder Card outfit. Yay!)
-A Disgaea 2 trading figure(got the female mage)

Panel wise, due to a certain SOMEONE, I only got to see the drawing panel. Which was quite a bit more informative than the one last year. Though the face drawing lesson from last year taught me how to draw a 3/4 angle, he skipped front views, and how to draw guys in favor of Chibi Chubbies. >_<;. The one this year had lessons on how to draw front views, 3/4 views for both guys and girls, and how to draw bodies- partially, anyway. This panel is about the only thing that made day 1 worth it.
And I got my picture taken 4 times that day. Yay! biggrin

Day 2:
Got there around 10:45, which was fine. And spent until 1 in the bloody Dealer's Room again, hoping for new stuff. Nope. It was even worse than Friday. I ended up buying the boxed set of Karin- something ELSE I wanted to avoid doing, as I can get DVDs anywhere.
Panel wise, I went to a panel about writing scripts for comics. Unfortunately.. I didn't learn anything. I kind of knew this stuff. >_<;.
The second panel was SUPPOSED to be about dubbing English movies into Japanese, but I accidentally went into the wrong room, and ended up in a panel that was SUPPOSED to be about the dubbing process. Which was fine.). Only to find out that they had a different panel in there entirely. They moved the M.O.V.E. Q and A into that room without telling everyone(or changing their sign), so I ended up going to that. Luckily, they weren't really boring to listen to- and it turns out that I HAVE heard their stuff before, but still. Because of their mix up, I missed another panel that I wanted to go to. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the panel didn't even start until 10 minutes after it was supposed to start? Yep. It did. >_<;.
Then I went to a Smash Bros. Brawl panel- which started 20 minutes after it was supposed to. >_<;.
Oh, and I ended up in the viewing rooms, too, because there were no good panels at 2:30 PM >_<;. I watched the first 4 episodes of Strain(I don't remember the exact punctuation). And so far, liked it. smile .

Anyway.. despite my gripes, I had a good time. smile . Though I hope next year, the Dealer's Room doesn't suck as much as it did this year. >_<;.
