Kogitsune's Random Ramblings
Just as the title says. Random Stuff.
A change in pace, a change in scene
The unused door creaks in,
And on the graying floor
Falls light’s ray on its knees,
Fresh breeze flits gaily through the room
Disturbing things untouched;
A decade past: yet nothing’s changed
Just colors faded way –
But soon reborn
With just a brush, regaining
Vibrancy of other days.
Still there, it stands, a ghostly shape:
The white cloth I drag down.
A note from memory resurfaced or
From harpsichord it stems.
One of the keys was pressed
Mayhap, and music flows within.

A candle flits in evening breeze,
I still remember. Still.
How you, though weary from your way,
Would take me on your knee;
And open lid upon request
The music flowed again.
My laugh would break the current,
My entreats wore you down,
You closed the keys, they left my sight
I cried and you would sigh
And comfort me, my tears would dry
Again, the night would breathe
Calling me to bed, to sleep
Eyes closing, yours and mine,
But I refused to go.
The big bed fit the both of us,
I’d say. You’d shake your head.
My hair you’d smooth and tuck me in
The night would take its toll.
Yet soon enough my covers pushed away
I’d creep to you and,
‘Till the morn, would rest upon your cheek,
Warm and by your side, I’d sleep.

It’s been a while and
The time has taken things away.
But these keys ring recalling days
When naïve fancy turned my world,
When I had touched your heart
While wearies held you down.
Those evenings spent together
They haven’t become dear.
It’s always been this way.
I hadn’t realized.

The fleeting thoughts they fly away
And scarcely they come down.
We miss the things we do love most;
What stays is only dust.
While music flows throughout the room,
Listen and don’t run,
Cherish those moments as they come:
They may not always last.
An ocean, unhurried giant being
Flows slowly ‘tween our shores.
Your world is one, mine something more
Or less but no longer are they like.
I wish you were back with me but know
This is quite in vain:
I cannot overturn my choice.
These keys don’t ring beneath my hand
_____As they had sung ‘neath yours;
The room looks dimmer, dreary.
A white cloth flutters, shielding
Delicate checkered polish.
Rays of light jest with my eyes
Your smile reappears,
Why must it be this or that
Not everything we can keep in hand,
And I not let you disappear from life?

The evening creeps on noon
And tired grows the day;
Fresh air beckons me outside.
From the bench I watch the clouds,
I watch the clouds go by.
Children run in prank and play
It’s vain to call them back.
But voices sound and draw them near,
To tuck them in their beds.
I sigh and rest my head upon my hands:
Maybe this is the effect of age.
But for you, I know now, by your call
I would run home.
