Twice Upon a Story…
…there was an ordinary girl, a writer of fancy and fairy-tale, desperate to escape the monotony of average life. That is, until her own story becomes her horrifying reality. Trapped in the mysterious world of her creation, she is faced with dangers beyond her imagination and must unite with a group of valiant outcasts to save innocent people from a devastating curse. But is history about to repeat itself? In this world, it's kill or be killed. Time is running out.
~Prelude~
Have you ever had a dream so real that it's hard to believe it was ever a dream; a dream that you can feel and smell and touch, as though it were undeniably true? Almost like it was placed in front of you for you to explore. They say these dreams have some significance to what's about to happen in your life. It’s like a peep into your future, or a warning telling you to take precaution. Many of these dreams are not straightforward, hiding the message deep inside your subconscious thought. However, mine was as transparent as it gets. The night before my adventure began, I had this very dream. I dreamt a story I had written came to life. This story was about a girl who had created her own world, a fantastic world with many enchantments and magical creatures, in which to escape the habitual tedium that wrapped its merciless claws around her life. This world wasn't real, of course, but it was real in her eyes. It was all that mattered. But one night she had gone to bed with her normal expectations for the morning that followed, and had awoken to something much more incredible. She had found herself inside her own creation, in the world that only existed in her mind, and there was no way out. A prisoner of her own imagination.
My dream was similar to this, only it was I who was in her place. How strange. It couldn’t be possible, though. No. There was nothing extraordinary about me; just an ordinary girl, with an ordinary life, in an ordinary little city in England. I was much too plain. Nothing abnormal would ever happen to me.
I would later learn that this theory was unmistakably and indisputably erroneous….
