ninja PROLOGUE










My name is Utaku, Kizuki, and I am 23. I am from the world of Naruto, where we are raised to become ninja in service of our land. The two-tailed cat demon was implanted into me at an early age, and my trait is the eyes. I live in the Sand Village with my husband, Gaara of the Desert, who is Kazekage. I have an orange ninja cat named Shi, meaning “death,” who has been with me since birth. I use claws as my main source of attack, but I also have two small fans that summon weapons for combination attacks. I have had one child with Gaara: a little girl named Suki, meaning “beloved”. I have two siblings, both from the Leaf Village. My brother is Inuzuka, Kiba, age 24, and my sister is Kyuketsuki, Ame, who is 23 and in the Akatsuki (she changed her name when she joined). I have a few friends from different villages:
·Omikami, Shirunai ( 21 ) - Mizukage, or leader of the Mist Village
·Nairu, Mizuhana ( 17 ) - a rogue from the Mist Village
·Miyazaki, Kitoku ( 28 ) - a member of the Akatsuki who was originally from the Leaf Village

(Though I’m associated with those from the group that killed my husband once, I love my friends)

I was born into the Inuzuka clan, a family of dog trainers. Unfortunately for me, I was born loving cats, not dogs. I refused to be around any of the family’s dogs. Because of that, my whole family mistreated me except for my little sister. She loved cats and dogs both, so she didn’t understand why our family didn’t like me. “I think it’s only because I refuse to ‘love’ dogs,” I said to her. So when I turned eleven, I ran from my home in Konohagakure and traveled to Kirigakure where I met Shirunai and Mizuhana. My name wasn’t Kizuki back then, but since I suffered from a serious head injury, Shirunai took it upon herself to name me. After two years, I fled to Sunagakure.
Temari was my first friend in the Sand Village, so I begged her to be my sensei as no one else saw it fit to train an outsider, and she accepted. After a few months of training, she introduced me to the rest of her family, Gaara and Kankuro. Kankuro and I had a rocky start but we slowly became friends, but Gaara just ignored me altogether. He didn’t seem to care much about whether or not I existed, and I was determined to get him to notice me, if only for a moment. After my training, I would search throughout the whole village just to find him, and after a long while, he slowly came to acknowledge me. We were friends to a degree, but it seemed that I was never very important in his life, for all I knew. One fateful night when I was fourteen, I went looking for him again and met him under a full moon. He warned me to stay away, but I couldn’t understand why until his sand curled around me. Holding is head and crouching, he asked me why I was always around. I was startled, and I tried my best not to stutter when I answered.
I told him I loved him, feeling that he needed someone there for him. There was always a connection to him that I felt, deep in my heart. He gasped, and the sand uncurled from my body. “I know that you think there’s no one there for you, Gaara-san, but that’s a lie,” I told him. “Why aren’t you afraid of me, like everyone else? What if I kill you?” he challenged. I lowered my head. “Everyone hated me back where I used to live, so I know the loneliness that you feel. And even you kill me, it still means that you’ve acknowledged me. I’ll love you ‘til the end.” The next day, we walked to the Kazekage’s palace. I was fully accepted into Sunagakure as one if their ninja. From that moment on, Gaara never left my side. About a month later, it was official that we were dating, and he finally proposed to me when we turned seventeen. Kankuro and Temari were amazed that I changed their brother so, and gladly accepted me as their sister when we told them about the engagement. I had a high homicidal tendency so they were a bit wary of me when we first met, but I’ve settled down since then. I haven’t heard any news from the Leaf, except from what I overhear.
