Today's random thought... Why good games spawn bad movies.
We all know that when a live-action movie is made from a good game, the movie will suck. Remember, this says nothing about CG. Animated movies based on games are usually good. Advent Children is a prime example of this.
However that is of no use to today's ramblings.
The Resident Evil movie was mediocre.
The D&D movie wasn't all that good.
I hear the Tomb Raider movie sucked. (But then again, I heard the game also sucked, so no surprise there.)
It only took three minutes to determine that the Mario Bros. movie was, as Largo would say, "the lamest thing to ever crawl out of the lamest hole on the planet where all lameness was originally spawned in the known universe".
The reason? I call it the "Licensing Live-Action Lameness Formula".
Good game + movie licence + live action + bad actors = LAMENESS!
As I have mentioned earlier, I hear there is a Halo movie in the works. Let's hope it doesn't suck.
