We talk to our selves, confess our wants and needs to the night
We take what we believe over what is in sight
Some believe it so much that they'd kill, they'd die
Trample any one in their path, drowning out any child's crys
We shun friends and family, like strangers on the street
All for a disagreement, separate views, separate beliefs
We put full faith in men known to molest those without defense
Decapitate innocent men, woman, and children, without a trace of repent
Some live their whole lives without risk or enjoyment in any form
Fearing the ever present punishment of God's mighty storm
Keeping in mind the not so cold shoulder, of the fires of hell
A fear so strong each owner wears the distinct smell
Of God's threat, his ultimatum, his concealed arsenal
His little brother Lucy waits for us all, just ask a bible thumper
But God does not save us in our times of need, that's when he takes his slumber
As a boy raised on religion I always wondered "why ?,"
Why he let so many suffer, let so many die
But then I figured it out, felt the blow of reality hit
God is not in the sky waiting, he's in the city you live in
His angles walk among you, and so do Satan's damned
They hear all our conversations, take notice to all our demands
We can't see their feathery wings, or their long sinister tails
Because their you and me, from a liquor store cashier to the guy who delivers your mail
The divine volunteer at places like pida, help those in desperate need
Of coarse the wicked run the streets, make our innocent bleed
They walk among us, angles and demons, but your to busy to see
That the things we pray to every night are just men like you and me
You see I met god, let him have a dollar for some food
He smiled and said "God Bless !," and i couldn't help but smile too
I've seen the things no religious book good ever say
Because I heard it first hand, after all I spoke to God today
