y'know out of everything that's happened to me and such like. like giving birth to my adorable and beautiful little boy, there are two things i regret.

#1. when my dad was in hospital, lying on his deathbed, i was forced to break my promise he and i made...or release him of it, if that makes sense. dad and me made a promise that he'd stick around long enough to see my kids and to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. but on the 28th may, the day before he died, i had to say "you don't have to keep you promise dad..." but i'm glad his suffering is over... it has been a year since that horrid day. i never left the house properly for months, just to make sure my mam was ok, so she didn't do anything stupid.... only then did i realize that my mother probably is and possibly always will be the strongest woman i've ever had the honor to know, let alone be her youngest daughter. i just wish i could talk about my dad freely with my brothers and sisters, but they'll end up crying.. i know what they're like.

and #2. when i hit puberty, i never once said "i love you" to my dad, i regret that to this day and most likely forevermore. so i beg of you, even if you get stupid looks off the people you love, tel them everyday that you love them, it might be the last thing they hear from you.

my favorite memories of my dad are of him smiling and telling me stories of when he worked in a bakery and nearly got fired because one of the machines for making bread or something had a bust fuse, and they had to fix it within ten minutes or else. my dad just went down, saw what was wrong and fixed it right up.

and another memory of my dad was when he told me a stry of when he was a kid and watched a drunk man walk home. the man was walking home, happy as larry until he turned the corner a little too soon and fell over his fence. the man looked over the fence to see if anyone was looking and put himself right and finished off walking home, not realizing that my dad was watching.
