White Lace and Dark Thoughts
Sin sighed and walked down the stairs and to the cafeteria and sat down, still in her wet clothes, after grabbing something to eat.

Somewhere in her vicinity, a foreboding aura came off a sour man sitting by himself. His crystalline blue eyes pierced her very soul, observing her every movement. His voice was that of a dark, low raven, with a charm that could haunt you to the bone. "This one seems to be rather happy. Pity... There just doesn't seem to be enough despair in this school. I'll never complete my novel at this rate..." He wasn't talking to anyone in particular, but the sheer presence of his low-toned voice echoed with a frightening resonance.
She shivered, her skin was crawling.Just as with any writter she had a high sence of standing and something was not good at the moment. She finished her food and decided to go to help them wash the dishes. She began to do that, but something felt wrong and for once that day she frowned. She looekd arround once or twice.

A pair of blue eyes shone through a veil of messy black hair, stabbing through her own. He wasn't looking at her, but simply in her direction, hoping for something of interest to occur. The day been very boring so far, and nothing catastrophic had fed into his inspiration. This didn't sit well with the ominous man, as it kept his book's completion at a stand-still. As such, his glaring gaze seemed to stop time itself, slowing down the world around him. If anything dreadful were to happen, he wouldn't miss a second of it.

If she were to meet his stare, he would simply sit, motionlessly capturing her image in his mind. He did not smile, he did not blink: mere observation was his goal. The man could buckle your knees with a passing glance.
She looked arround again and saw him,she stared right back at him and knew he was a writter,he just had that air,but her heart seemed to squirm, telling her to stop looking his way, stop looking back at him,but she kept staring. She observed him the way he did to her and then she heard a "timber!" in the grounds behind her and she turned in time to see plates fall, she grabbed them and then set them back up,a few crashing to the floor. She picked them up and then went back to her work. Her skin was still prickling though and she rubbed her arms to make them stop.
Lawrence grinned a twinge, rubbing his chin. "Hm... its not enough. I wonder if she's the type who magnetizes toward misfortune. That...that would do quite nicely."

The writer then took to his feet, almost floating toward her, and the broken flatware. He lowered himself, grabbing a couple of stray shards left on the ground, looking at them for a moment. "You are...unharmed, I presume? Quite a lot of noise, these things make. Smarter staff would have ordered plastic, rather than ceramic or some such. But, you can't expect intelligence from every source, now can you." His gaze shot back down to Sin, blue eyes sending another ripple through her soul. Though he asked of her safety, it was fairly apparent that he didn't actually care in the slightest.

She held her hand up,blood seeping through the sleeve as she held it there."one of the plates were chipped."
She finished picking the shards up.She threw them away and then looked at him."but my unwell being was more of your goal was it not?"
She stared right back at him,he didnt disturb her too much,he seemed to go agienst everything her body said to do,but her mind was calm nonetheless. She was called for,but ignored them.

Lawrence looked at her bleeding hand with disdain. Such trivial misfortune did not sate his interests, so he wanted to be rid of it. Pulling a roll of oh-so convenient bandages from one of his pockets, he proceeded to clean and cover her cut, staring blankly. "My goals are not yours to understand. Try not to think about them, and you probably won't hurt yourself. If I were you, and I'm most certainly not, I would report this incident to the authorities of this facility. They may be able to compensate you for your accident, to avoid legal matters being presented." If he couldn't make the girl suffer, than perhaps bringing down the mood of a more important figure might help him out. Either way, he was bored with the moment, and backed away once her hand was bandaged properly. "However, this was a minor thing, and it does not concern me. You will do as you will regardless, so I'm wasting time suggesting things. Perhaps I'll take my search elsewhere..." The negative energy was gone in the room, so Lawrence felt the need to move on. His stare left the girl behind, as he motioned to make his exit.

Compared to her family he was nothing and she waved with her bandaged hand and walked out heself, now that the cleaning was finished. She grabbed her bag and walked out of the cafiteria and to the track again.Running was her exscape even more then writting and she put her bag down, begining her run again. It was almost time for school, but she didnt care, she was free for the moment. She took out her inhaler and took a puff before tossing it back to her bag.She kept running, not even opening her eyes for the first half an hour, she knew the track well, she practically lived at the school. She sighed, parent's day was coming fast and she knew her father would be there any chance he got.She wished he wouldnt though, she hated when he did,she liked her adoptive father, the dean at the school. She couldnt breath, but she didnt notice, her body was rejecting her mind, bringing her back to her needs of air though and she fell, breathing a minute and then getting back up to run again.

Lawrence made his way from the cafeteria, taking a sip from the round bottle he kept under his coat. It was only black tea, but everyone always suspected he kept liquor in it, for reasons unknown. Stupid high-schoolers always suspect hidden objects are something illegal. It wasn't his fault the inner pocket of his coat was handy for his drink. He didn't give a thought to the matter, wandering the halls until his class was prepared to begin. It was the only course that kept him in a decent mood: Creative Writing.

He'd already wounded the soul of the teacher, who had given up on trying to wrench anything positive or happy from Lawrence's writing. Still, given his talent, he always made spectacular grades in the course. He sat himself in the seat farthest from the door, and pulled a small, worn booklet from one of his pockets. Then, after grabbing his very expensive-looking fountain pen, he scribbled something emotional enough to keep the teacher out of his face, and proceeded to stare out he window blankly. For now, he would drown himself in the menagerie of dark thoughts within his psyche, and blur out the world around him.

She looekd at the sky, school started. She ran to get on her clothes and then ran to the classroom. She slipped inside her only class and sat down, taking out a cheeful looking book and putting one that was leatherbound and black on her lap.She wrote in both of them, the black book about her familymthe golden book about her final compossition. She wrote in the black one least, but after so often she lay down her head and fell asleep, but still wrote,a small talent she had developped when she was in the former years of the schooling.

Lawrence peered out from the corner of his eye. Something didn't feel normal, all of a sudden. that's when he saw her. Was that one girl from the cafeteria really in his creative writing class? Had she been there the whole time, and he not noticed? Then again... had he noticed her before, he would have paid it no heed, since she'd never been of any significance to him before. The only reason that was different now, was because he'd only spoken to her recently. They hadn't even exchanged names, so things could go on as they did before.

Class went on, and he occasionally found himself shooting a glance at the back of her head, with a mixture of boredom and curiosity. She didn't look like the writer type to him, so it was strange to see such a normal-looking girl in a creative writing course. Still, if not for the sheer boredom he was experiencing, he wouldn't' have put much thought into it.
She looked at the clock and then sighed, taking back out her black book and writting something more in it.She put it back in ehr bag and went back to sleeping for the last ten minutes before the bell rang. She got up and put her writting away, the teacher touched her shoulder and poke ot her.She nodded once, twice, three times.

"Dont worry, your father will come again I'm sure."The teacher smiled, but the smile was false.

She nodded again and then left the room with the remaining trickle of students."Stupid son of.....he better not come again..."

She didnt know where she wanted to go now and she sighed.back to the track. She headed that way,but didnt know if she should run again today. She nearly couldnt breath still and running might kill her.She shrugged to herself and muttered something about good and then walked the rest of the way to the track. She came to the road and looked before crossing,a car coming from the lot, speeding with kids nearly hit her and she jumped back."What where your going!"

The car stopped and she sighed, walking as a couple of the kids got out.Great, now the begining of the year torture starts. She kept walking, they were right behind her and then they stopped as she got through a croud of people with a sigh. She sat down on the track,it was gritty and hard, she took off her shoes so she could run.

Among the people following her was indeed Lawrence, but not with the other crowd. This could possibly be the disaster he was looking for! Then again... it was still incomplete. He couldn't stand to have anyone but himself gain any satisfaction from a traumatic event but himself. That being the case, with dark, selfish thoughts in tow, he stalked the stalkers, piercing them with his crystal eyes.

Lawrence had no personal feelings for anyone, let alone some random girl he'd noticed earlier in the day. However, she did indeed attract trouble, and that intrigued him. That being the case, he wasn't about to let any mediocre mishap afflict her. No no... he was going to make sure she had the biggest, more horrifying experience ever, if she had the potential to do so. His intentions were immoral, but his actions were pure, as he prepared himself, should the stalkers attempt to pull anything on his target du jour. Nothing was going to get between him and his novel.

She began her run arround the track and the kids walked through the croud when it thinned and grabbed her bag, dumping out her items on the ground and finding her black book. She waw them and couldnt breath, imediatly running over and snatching it back."Leave...th-this alone!"

The one who had been holding the book sneered."oh,looks like we found something."

Some of them snikered as they surrounded her.Great, her first fight of the school year. She held the book to her chest and someone picked up her inhaler."guys,i think we should let her have some space, look."

the person held up the inhaler and the one who had her book smirked. He spoke now in a harsh voice that didnt faze her."Oh...well well.our little play toy is sick..."

She knew her body would shut down soon if she couldnt get to her inhaler."I...need that....please give it here....."

She held out her hand for it but he just grabbed it and locked her head in his arm ageinst him.She struggled, trying to get loose. She couldnt breath at all now,he was crushing her windpipe. She thrashed arorund, dropping the book and trying to get loose.

"read the book to me Liza."He laughed as he held tighter.

A small looking girl picked it up and flipped through the pages, looking from Sin to the inhaler and back to the book.her eyes went big and she shook ehr head, closing the book."No."

He looked at her with cold eyes."Read it now Liza!"

She gulped and started to read it."December.....Max and Ruby came over to the house.Max tried to kill me again and father just watched. He was drunk again and Max laughed when he finally stabbed me.It hurt like hell, but the pain wasnt as bad as watching him hurt Ruby, she is such a small girl......"

She oculdnt read anymore and they all stood there,Sin was starting to pass out,her body shutting down.they stared at ehr and then the boy dropped her, telling them to go with him and leave the mess there. She saw her inhaler being dropped and just shook her head.Screw it,she could die now.She lay there, trying to breath, her throat hurting. She closed her eyes and waited for the darkness to come once more to signal she was passed out.it was slowly coming this time.
Now was the time to act. These fools were attempting to snuff out his possible inspiration for writing, and he wasn't about to let them succeed. Approaching them quickly, he almost immediately had the ringleader by the scruff of his shirt. his dark, forboding tone poured oil into the boy's heart. "Hello, boy. you like to dish out pain, I see. Well... I believe for you... it is time to accept the darkness." Lawrence reared back, a loud crackling noise emitted from his fist before he slammed it into the punk's face, a thunderclap sending the boy flying several feet into the dirt. Smoke rising from his hand, his devilish eyes stabbed through the others. "Unless you wish to join that heap of flesh in the darkness, you had best take your leave. Oh, and do drop any possessions that aren't yours, else I will be forced to stalk you until your final breath. Now...Begone." As nonchalantly as possible, Lawrence's foot tapped Sin's inhaler, causing it to roll toward her hand. before he could utter another word, the horrified delinquents scurried away, daring not interfere with the ominous monster in front of them.

He glanced down at the very unfortunate girl, grinning with a hint of malice. "If you have any value in life, you have been granted your chance. I won't make the decision for you, so act of your own will."
She got to her knees and took a deep breath from her inhaler. She took two more before she could breath fully and she looked at him,her own eyes were cold and practically lifeless.her voice was raspy and she stood up,a bit wobbly."you coulda just let me die..."

She began to gather her items and then looked arround.Where had that one girl dropped her book? She found it and picked it up."I'm getting a lock for this thing..."

She sighed and shoved everything back into her bag.She really wanted to run now,but she'd die-and eventhough it didnt sound like to bad of an idea-she decided not to run.She stood back up and wondered where she could go to now,her dorm room was not the place she wanted to be at all.
Lawrence readjusted his spectacles, scoffing at her pitiful comment. "I didn't let you do anything. You could have died, had you decided to reject that device. I didn't tell you to use it, I simply gave you the choice. Besides..." he looked over at the unconscious punk, with a fairly large burn mark on his jaw. "That was... mildly amusing, at best. Dashing the ego of one who is truly nothing is always a plus, in my book. Let the dark scar on his face remind him to humble himself to others." What little smoke was left coming off his gloved hand was shaken away, as Lawrence turned to look onward.

"You seem to have an affinity for this area, at the running track. Assuming your legs are stronger than they seem to be, I would suggest giving people like him a swift kick where he won't forget it. Don't expect me to loosen death's grip on you again. You...intrigue me, so I can't let you die right now. Not until I figure out what makes you interesting." Wow, what an insensitive way to talk to someone who nearly died. Lawrence's sheer lack of respect for the living was as evident as ever, but the fact that he spoke directly to her showed she wasn't just a creature on the ground, to him. However... what she was to him, in his eyes, it was hard to say. For now, she was merely a specimen that he wasn't done observing.
"Well I'm glad I could be your bug under the microscope."She muttered and glared at him."And yes,my legs are strong.I just dont like violence....it likes me."

She threw her bag over her shoulder and looked at the guy on the ground, she smirked as she saw the neaklace on him and went over, plucking it of."So your the one who stole it..."

She looekd arround and wondered what to do,she didnt feel like being a test subject so she looked at him, then walked away."I need a drink."

She went to the nearest club and sat down in a corner booth. She hated to drink so she didnt, but she did order some coke and looekd arorund. It was too noisey, but it was a good place to keep low and hide for a bit.She knew that the kid would be wakeing up soon, and with one hell of a headache, and a possible broken jaw,so she was not going to be there. She lay her head on the tale and put the bottle of soda on her neak, she needed to write so she took out the black book and wrote what she had experianced that day, just like every other article in there.

Seeing as his mild interest had left his company, he felt no need to loom over his victim. He hmphed to himself, and wandered off, heading toward somewhere quiet that he could ponder. First thing that came to mind was the park, of course. There were lots of tall trees, so staying out of interlopers' line of sight was easy. Also, the shade made it easier for him to think, since trying to dodge the sun beating down on him was vexing.

Finding his usual spot in one of the larger oak trees, he hopped up and sat himself on a thick limb, pulling out his little black book. He flipped through the pages, glancing through what he'd already written: weak. Hoping something wonderfully dreadful would happen in the near future, he stared at his last, half-full page, and lost himself in thought.

She was tired of the noice now and she left the club,it was about high noon and she knew only one place that was quite. The park, no one wne there in the daytime. She wondered over to it,thinking to herself. What had that guy been talking about, her life sucked and he was interested in it!? He was wierd, but what was it that made his eyes so piercing? She shook her head of her thoughts and then went to the swings. She sat down and began to swing, getting to as high as she could and then letting herself fall off the swing and crash to the ground, rolling before she got up and then did it again. She looekd up at the sun as she soard upwards again and closed her eyes, etting go of the swing and then falling to earth again. She landed with a thump as she rolled and then stood, not even bothering to dust herself off.She thought of what she had wrote. All the questions she had about that guy. He hadnt knoticed her before, why did he now? What made her so interesting? Why was he showing up when she was getting hurt? Why was he showing up arround her at all?

Why, oh why, did his favorite tree have to be so close to the almost unused playground? And why, oh why, did that particular girl have to be there, in his proximity, AGAIN. Lawrence let out a fairly loud groan, cursing his luck. Solitude was a rare commodity, apparently, as his silence was invaded by someone who decided it was fun to hurl themselves from the squeaky old devices of the playground. Shutting his book with a resounding clap, he jumped down from his tree, staring at Sin once again. "I just can't seem to distance myself from you, can I. It seems trouble isn't the only things that magnetizes to you. What brings you to this particular neck of the woods, where I often sit in silence to work on my novel? Are you, perhaps, the one stalking me? You wouldn't be the first, though I would certainly hope my speculation is incorrect. You don't even know my name, do you..." He readjusted his spectacles, cocking his hip to the side. He'd thought he was going to be alone for the remainder of the day, but luck just didn't want to give him what he desired. Still, had it been anyone else, he would have been slightly more perturbed to his obtrusive interruption. But it was her. That girl. That seemingly insignificant, accident prone, ill-fated girl that he'd thought he'd left behind. What was drawing them together, so many times in a single day? He didn't know... and not knowing bothered him. So, to ease his distress, and interview was in order.

"I am Lawrence Artemis Eldwinn. Most people, to my disliking, just want to call me 'Dwinn. They think its 'cool', or some rubbish like that. Call me what you like, as long as you show respect." Speaking of, he gave her a poetic bow, arm folding over his front and everything. "Who are you, suspicious being who confounds my logic; she who defies fate and denies wishes? Who is... this girl before me, whom I can't seem to part from? If you would, sate my curiosity..." His voice was melodic, as a bass Gregorian chorus, while maintaining its dark, dour expressiveness. More often than not, it was hard to tell if he was being cynical, or just... artistic, with his words. All a matter of opinion, one would have to assume.

She crossed her arms and answered his question."Sin.My name is Sin,short for Sinsatia, which ever you prefer and i'm not stalking you,I happen to come here often-when I'm not trying to be killed, maybe your the one stalking me.And second,i dont knwo why we have seen eachother so many times today."

She couldnt help but wonder what his intentinos were with his words. She figured him to be just the same as all the others, but his words were diffrent and she didnt know what to make of them,so she made nothing of them. She turned and waved again."Guess I'll probably see you arround later is history repeats itself."

She knew one place no one knew, the old river bridge. She sat there and pulled off her shoes again and let the water go over her feet. She sighed and lay back on the bridge, she was so torn in life right now and sighed, closing her eyes. The bridge was near colapsing and she heard the ceaking and swaying of it.

Sin. The very thought of an innocent little girl named Sin forced his face to broaden, twisting into and excited, devilish grin. "Sin, you say. My, what a delightfully convenient name you have. A girl who abhors violence, is too frail to commit any... self-destructive acts, and feels the need to express herself by the tame means of writing...named Sin. My my, that is simply delectable." He chuckled to himself. It was a very warped, deep, inner chuckle, sparked by the delicious irony of the situation. The misfortunes of a girl named Sin: this could be the inspiration he'd been craving after all! There was no way he was going to pass up the opportunity of a lifetime, so as she waved him goodbye, he faded into the shadows, and began pushing fate in his direction. Luck had been hinting at him to keep an eye on this girl, and only now did he see what he must do. Staying out of sight and earshot, he followed her, examining with intricate detail, every part of the rest of her day.

His heart leaped as he found her underneath a worn, old bridge. What a depressing sight indeed! He was simply elated to see such an unsuspecting scene, daring the powers that be to wrench him from his ever-watchful position. If only something treacherous were to happen, something unmistakably inhuman. But then... it struck him.

He wanted more! There was noone around, no audience to the possible chaos! that just wouldn't do, no, not one bit. Solitude was for the writer alone, and he would get no proper inspiration from a concealed, contained catastrophe. Oh, how his greed twisted his mind, and blackened his soul. His heart pumped oil through his veins, and his bones were made of charcoal. He wanted nothing but the most inhumane, inconceivable, the most absolutely unrivaled event of unrelenting horror he could get his hands on.

...and, to him... it could only come from Sin herself.

She sighed and stared up at the sky.Now what? She took out her black book and wrote. She felt eyes on her and shivered every so often. She couldnt shake them, she grabbed the bridge and heard a snap.*censored*! She plunged into the water and then surfaced,it had rained pretty badly so the river was flowing fast. She grabbed onto sticks and grass, being pulled under the water and coming up spitting and caughing.
Oh, come ON. he finally decides its not time for her to die, and she jumps in the freaking river. This girl was bent on ruining his wonderfully horrible moment. Jumping from his hiding place, he tossed off his enchanting jacket, revealing a surprisingly trim body underneath. Leaping forward, he dove into the river, propelling himself toward the helpless child. He called out to her, sounding rather irritated. "You have a knack for wanting to die at the wrong time, do you know that? Now grab on, already!" Not giving her much of a choice, he plucked her by the arm, paddling them both to the shore after fighting off the defiant, choppy water. Despite his prior statements, he'd saved her once again.

No sooner were they out of the water, loud crackling roared from his body, causing him to cry out in agony. Sparks were flying, and tiny bolts of electricity jumped to and from various points on his body. Brought to his knees, he fell forward, barely holding himself up on his palms, more loud zapping coming from all over. "Gah... curse you, Sin... your clumsiness, nngh!...you fogged my judgment...your anguish had better be wor--AAAGGH!!!" There was a final, thunderous crashing noise, as Lawrence's shirt simply burned off of him, revealing what looked like super-advanced circuitry. Several locations on the circuits glowed a vibrant blue, surrounded by crackling sparks. On his hands, specifically, his knuckles, there was a single, square pad, surging with electrical impulses. It seemed Lawrence's darkness lit him up quite nicely.

How anyone could forget they were not waterproof, it is a mystery.
She stared at him and backed away as fast as she could. What was going on!? She whimpered and shook ehr head, then closed her eyes, counting alloud."One...your not there...two....your just my imagination.....three..."

She knew he was there, but what was going on!?
Lawrence couldn't take the pain anymore, and collapsed on the wet ground below him, occasionally twitching from a spontaneous spark. Still, face pressed into the mud, he beamed one hateful eye up at her. "My...ugh... under my clothes, I wear a...a special suit, to enhance my physical ability... to make me stronger...ghawk...khhkkk..." He began to cough uproariously, curling up on his side as he sparked and crackled again. "Obviously... such a garment should not be immersed in water... 'lest it electrocute the wearer...khhk...risking my life for Sin... I must be a complete fool..." His one open eye softened a little, looking back down at the ground. His dignity was gone, shame washing over him like the fatal river tide had once already. He had no more biting comments, no more insensitive quips to throw at her. The fact that he had survived the electrocution was a feat in itself. He simply lay there, motionless, unable to lift a single finger.

He wasn't dead, but he may as well have been. He didn't have anything else to say to Sin, and didn't expect her to say anything back. For all it was worth, she could leave him there to die, and it wouldn't surprise him. He was of no value to her, so it made little sense for her to do him any favors. He didn't even look up at her, letting his face hide in the ground. Steam and smoke rose from his body, much like what rose from his hand when he struck down the delinquent sometime earlier. The sparks and bolts were gone now, all of the pent-up electricity having grounded itself. His batteries were exhausted, so he was little more than charred remains of a peculiar writer.

Now, to himself... he was nothing.
She had to help him.She went over and turned him to his back, quickly observing his clothing and then his skin."you have a bit more then second degree burn and...and...I can help you..but you have to trust me...is there any way to get the stuff off of you?"

She didnt know if he would respond and she put her head to his mouth to see if he was breathing,it was shallow, but he was.
Upon being dropped to his back, he let out another short coughing fit, trails of smoke actually coming from his mouth. "It...probably won't come off easily now. The electricity has grafted it to my skin. Why do you care, anyway. Your follower has been dispatched. I would have assumed you'd be relieved." He couldn't help but laugh a little, in the raspy remains of his former voice. "Look at me now... a charred heap of flesh, myself. My darkness has finally consumed me, and left me for dead. All is as it should be... I am my own unspeakable tragedy. Irony never was very kind to me." With a mixture of laughter and choking, he double over for a moment, before plopping back into the mud. What was left of his shirt was either blackened or covered in dirt, and his physique was crisped in various places, mostly around the once glowing blue pads all over.

He chuckled again, possibly a little delusional from his near-death state. "What a pity. I couldn't even write in blood now, for fear that it would turn to ash."

She was about to slap him but figured she had done enugh damage already."you assumed wrong, and when i get you out of this suit i can assess the wounds properly."

She sighed and began to work him out of the burnt up suit. She sighed and tried not to hurt him."Sometimes I hate irony."

She finished getting him out of it and then shook her head. She almost was in tears, she never cried, ever and now she was about to.She shook her head and started to care for his wounds. She didnt have the tools she needed to do everything properly.A spark came and she didnt notice it and suddenly felt a jolt. She screamed as his skin started to peel back. She scattered from him as a small dragon was emerging form his wounds. She watched in amazement.

It looked at her and gave her a wink, getting to the air and then she felt something scratching her inside and she screamed as she looked up,blood errupted from her mouth as a dragon made its way from her throat. She fell to the ground lifeless as thier spirits stared at eachother. They smiled as they went back to a human form and saw a light in the water as they traveled to the world they loved the most.
