Chapter 2: New Toys
After awhile doing jail time was a little inconvenient for my double life so I created an escape plan. I used my powers of nature to create a living plant that looked walked and talked like poison ivy. When doing my heists she would disguise herself as a hobo that happened to be there. When batman showed up I would hide while she would take my place and get arrested. I often worried about her turning on me but her loyalty was unfailing and she didn’t seem to have the ability to even think of rebelling. It couldn’t have been more perfect. When I want to do a crime I simply had her bust out of jail for my alibi.
Life was sweet for a while with the exception of batman always foiling my plans. But I still had them all fooled. I had my secret hideout and my uptown apartment. Both of my identities were separate as they should be. After all no one knew who batman really was, but I had taken the higher road than he and tricked everyone into thinking that they knew who poison ivy was. As you can tell I was very proud of myself.
I took many expeditions doing my work and my wants all around the world. On one such vacation that I took with my close friend Harley. I came across a temple filled with writing on the powers of the soil rocks and things of the ground. Upon an alter there was a green jewel believed to hold the power to control the elements of the ground. It seemed that my larger voice once again brought me here for a purpose I now knew. I took the stone and instinctively inserted it into my navel. The pain was great my body writhed and fought it. I was out cold for nearly a week and when I awoke the stone was permanently inset in my stomach. And I now held the power over the element of earth. It took some training to control but Gaia had already giving me the knowledge and ability to do it.
Not long after I met a man of great signifigance in my life, this one ran away with leaving my dear Harley alone and Gotham without poison ivy. He took me to a place in Iceland a temple of great beauty and luxury. He claimed himself a god. He stood tall with long blond hair, blue eyes and more muscles than I knew what to do with. He called himself Thor, and he always spoke in thees and thous, but I didn’t care because he was fun. Perhaps he was a god, because he could take anything I could give and keep on like nothing ever happened. He often called me mother of all and would sometimes bow at my feet and thank his luck for being loved by one such as myself. My ego had a field day with it.
One day he brought me a gift after a long absence away from me. He claimed to have gone to great lengths to achieve it, he wanted to help and bestow greatness upon mother Gaia. He was convinced that I was her and I never told him otherwise. It was another green jewel, but this was surrounded by gold. He placed it on my forehead and kissed it into place. A bolt of electricity
shocked me and there it sat permanently upon my brow. It had the powers of regeneration. No matter what my would, I would heal, my ego made another leap of joy. We spent many a moon together until I figured out that soon he would conflict with my work. He was a hero, a savior to
mankind, my purposes did not share the sentiments. Also I found that I had fallen in love with him and that he would never feel the same way back. My emotions were too precious to have broken.
But im my foolish love I stayed, and because of my foolishness I became pregnant with his babe. He touched my stomach and proclaimed it a girl of my beauty and his strength. I was happy and frightened. To bring a child up with such conflicting agendas as ours seemed wrong. Then a fateful day came. There was a great battle, I was injured and awoke may days later, my belly was empty the child was gone. Thor wept beside me, even some of his family wept, my eyes were dry. The next day I left quietly without a word. I went to a south American rain forest and cried until my eyes were dry again. He never came for me, sometimes I think I wanted him to.
