Day 13.5
Day 13.5; Monday, June 29th

Waking up at 7 is...really not such a good idea, when you barely fell asleep until almost midnight. o 3o; I was sorta...bleck, when I got up.

Got there and was like...errrr...what now? So I just sat and was like, oh snap, I don't get phone signal! D': It was pretty crappy. So Neha was like...asking for everyone's name, and trying to figure out who we all were...xD She remembered quite a few. I met another girl named Victoria. xD ...yeah, high school will be just as fail as middle school with Victoria Ngo in all my classes. Oh well~! She has a weird Asian name, and just goes by Victoria, so at least there won't be too much trouble with first day attendance. xD

Went to ENGLISH first. D': It was like UGH. We read about the benefits of STUDYING, by a dude named Francis BACON. xDD He has a freaking epic name. <3 It was written in 1597. o 3o; Yeah, sorta hard to understand. It's like in Shakespeare language!! D': We got through okay. There's a few people that are uber overachievers that raise their hand all the time, and actually understand it. xD I feel like such an idiot. We have to write a paragraph, agreeing or disagreeing with something Bacon said! I'm totally going in between. xD

We switched over to the other English teacher, since they don't really want us to be staring at the same person for an hour and a half. How boring is that? xD And we had to write a paragraph on a short story, sorta like those English assessment BCRs, since it was about theme too. Problem was...it was pretty darn hard finding a theme in that. xD I wrote ONE sentence about the actual imagery the narrator used, and then the rest was on the theme, so I'm pretty sure I failed that. My brain crashed. Even after my nap, my brain is still dead. I'm writing whole sentences with the words in the wrong order and stuff... o 3o;;

Had a snack/break time. We had CHEX MIX. Epic win. xD Then Amy dropped her Chex Mix, and I stepped on one. xD It got uber pwn'd...^A^o;; (If you don't get the face, the O is a hand. xD) My dad knows Amy's dad, so I had SOME idea as to who she was. She's so chibi. x'D Neha is HUGE, and she's barely 14. (Just yesterday.) She's like...Amanda's height or something. xD I'm a short old person, woot.

Went to math next. o 3o;; That was pretty fail too~! We had to review a bunch of algebra stuff (barely remembered), and then learn something called "interval notation". I think I was supposed to know it, but I didn't. xD Remember how we did like those inequations, so it'd be like x is greater than a number, and have to put that on a number line? Well...it was basically, you have to put it in sorta like a coordinate-styled thing. D: Like if it's x is greater than 2, it'd be [2, infinity). And yeah, they have to have the different bracket things. o 3o; I have a feeling Mrs. Williams was supposed to teach us this at one point! xD Or maybe normal school just isn't good enough for all these old Clemente/Eastern kids~! MEH to them, since I'm the only Rocky Hill kid that showed up. xD (Unless Matthew Thomas showed up. I don't even remember what he's supposed to look like from his yearbook picture. o 3o; ) Yeah...it was sorta confusing. xD That room had a bit more signal, since it actually had windows that led outside. xD The other class had windows that led...inside? o 3o; Like you could stare at the lampposts from the class. xD She like collected all our papers. AFTER Neha doodled all over mine in pen. xD We drew Bob. Bob is very ugly. The teacher said she likes artistic doodles. Bob...is not so artistic. xD (French moostache, unibrow, and a very large balloon shaped head. xDD) We did radicals and stuff too. DD: EW!

I have no idea how I got into RM. A bunch of smart kids were wait listed too. o3o; I feel like I'm really too stupid to be there. I met a lot of friendly people today, but I never really CLICKED, like I did with my bffs. D': Like, we're sort of in a very polite and silent agreement. xD We just chat with each other so we don't die of boredom, and we're all good. Maybe it's cause it's just day one of summer school, but I don't know.

I had a headache when I left...xD So I just asked my mom some random question about what she does at work, and she begins passionately describing to me her job the whole 45 minutes back, and a bit at home too. xD That way I didn't have to talk much. So freaking tired and too much thinking. D: I went home, ate lunch, and then went to Borders to buy the Odyssey. I went in, asked the dude, and got it in under a minute. xD Short shopping trip! Epic win. A whole 16 dollars to torture myself, great. xD

Went home and my mom just took a nap. I was chatting with Kat for a little while, and then started to work on the paragraph. It was soooo boring, and Kat left, so I didn't have to that attentively be at the computer. xD So I occasionally plopped down on my bed and be comfy for a moment before thinking I had to finish the paragraph...and got back up. xD Except one time I didn't exactly get up! And fell asleep for an hour and a half. -fail-

Got up, went downstairs and my mom was talking about this is why she didn't like staying at home so much, because all she did was take naps. xD Then she looks at me and was like...what have YOU been doing? xD I obviously looked uber just got up-ish too.

I didn't really like it too much. It's a lot of reading. That makes no sense. I'd much rather struggle through politics, with normal English words, instead of this, where it is like Shakespearean times! D': And then all the way back to Greek times too, for the Odyssey. xD Cblurg has their political history, and we have our ANCIENT history. This works...sorta. xD

My parents, way back when, were like... we think you should go to RM because it has such a high ranking. You'll get into so many more colleges going there~!

So I was like... D': UGH, if I don't go there, they're going to bug me about it forever and ever, if I do well at Cblurg. (They'd be like...you could've actually gone to RM and had a challenge!)

So there, they're happy. xD I'm challenged as can be. And now my mom is like...it's still your choice! You can go to Cblurg~! And my dad is like...it's a group decision! My mom has to miss work to drop me and pick me up, I'm getting tortured with the work and early morning sleep-missing, and my dad is like...D:< STRUGGLE THROUGH IT~!

Basically, I'll have to go through 720 or so school days of this epic difficultness, and it's only 2 subjects. D': I'm not nerdy enough to be with all these nerds!!

My mom is like...D: I don't like RM, too far to drive! My dad is like...better college, better future! And I'm like...I miss my friends. T^T So basically, I get my dad's point, but I miss my friends. D: And don't like all the Englishness. But you know what, just cause my future is a lot longer than 4 years, I thinking it's a sacrifice I'll TRY to make. If I'm dead by 2 weeks, I don't care about my future, I just wanna survive high school. xDD

I still have yet to finish the paragraph and print it. Almost done with the last sentence. PHEW, done. o 3o;

SHOWER TIME. Shower good, now rereading paragraph. DONE. Here's mah paragraph.

"Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider.”
I agree with Francis Bacon when he says you need to weigh and consider the things you read and not take them for granted, but I would have to disagree with his other statements in that quotation. To contradict and confute, to believe, and to find talk and discourse, almost always are connecting to the weighing and considering, so one should aim to complete those things Bacon says not to do. For example, in book clubs and English classes, you read a book and then discuss it. By doing this, you’re made to think about the book and consider all that you’ve learned from it. This applies to a situation such as debating about a theme of the book with peers as well. Believing is the inverse of these other two types of actions. Usually, you have weighed and considered the information you are given and agreed with them in some way before believing they are true. In all three of these examples, they have reached Bacon’s idea of “weighing and considering”, but have gone against his idea by reading to complete the other actions. The final piece to discuss, taking things for granted, never leads to anything beneficial. One doesn’t take things for granted in their lifetime, and for that reason, I also agree taking one’s reading for granted is something to avoid. In conclusion, Bacon’s work has many good points to it, but many things have changed in over four centuries, including learning methods. Debates and discussions are an active part of how students learn nowadays, so I believe views on such methods have changed over the many years since this essay’s writing.

Yeah, basically, I guess they gave us so much work since we have a million hours to do it. xD I procrastinated a few hours, but oh well! xD

I tend to write like a blogger. It's definitely not the format used in actual essay writing, which sucks. xD Like...I'll connect things, but my main idea is usually pretty dispersed. It's hard to find a main idea, but it's all points I have to make on whatever the topic was. D': Makes it sorta hard to get good grades in English, the main class of RM. xDD I hope I survive.

OMG, I'm so outta shape. Haven't been running, because I want to try NOT to get eaten alive by bugs alive this year, so I can't run at Black Hill. D': And my mom always wants to go fishing with my dad, so we can't run in the neighborhood. (They don't really want me running alone.) And yeah, they've been fishing too much to take me swimming. And now I'm doing summer school I have a feeling I'll be too busy or tired to go swimming. D: I'm not willing to do another get up at 4 for swimming thing again...xD That was epic fail. I did it about twice before I was like...no, this DOES NOT work. xD Hm..yup, definitely outta shape. -pokes tummy- Mostly been eating and sleeping a lot too. xD Pretty sure I've gained weight~! xD

I tried to scrape the weird stuff off the bottom of my left heel. D: The skin = uber dry, so it sorta has little cracks. (EW) And then dirt got it in and doesn't come out (DOUBLE EW D: ), so I got a pair of scissors and started trying to scrape some of the skin off. xDD It doesn't hurt since the stuff on my foot is so thick. ._.;; Ai-ya, I need one of those little rocky things. xD Cuz my attempt was basically unsuccessful. I'm hoping a combo of extreme scrubbing in the shower (I think standing on one foot in the shower is sorta dangerous, but okay! xD) and scraping with scissors. >D Hopefully someday the bottom of my foot won't be so darn hard. xD Right now you can like stab me in the foot and I wouldn't bleed. xD (I almost never think things hurt, so yeah...xD)

Started trying to read the Odyssey...D: It's sorta boring. Like I said to Kat earlier, it's a cross between a Bible and Shakespeare. It's better than Shakespeare, since you don't really need footnotes to get it. xD But it's worse than the Bible because...I still have no idea what's going on. xD At least with the Bible, little kids know the stories before reading, so they know how it's supposed to go. I'm just sitting here like...uhhh...okay, I GUESS this is what she's trying to say?? I read like 2 pages in...xD

I will leave you with a question now...what would Jesus do?

It's just a random question that popped up. ._.;

My reply to my parents asking I can make the choices on where I go in life is...I don't care. xD I'd be stuck with a lot more grief than I currently am if I made my own choices. I'm sure of it. xD So make your own choices, but not too many of them! D':

Mrs. Burns would have killed you since you used the pronoun "I" xDDD

"little rocky things" ....pumice? (darn that rock took me forever to spell it right xD where did they even get these names???)

The Odyssey is awesome =D bascially, Odysseus runs around, gets lost in the ocean, fails lots, then arrives back home 10 years later and kills all these suitors that want to marry Penelope xD I think Penelope is Helen (of Troy's) younger sister or cousin or something.... there was also this other story that isn't mentioned very often that Penelope tests Odysseus by asking him to carry their bed to this other room....but he can't 'cause one of the posts is like, a tree.... -shuts up-

Speaking of choices, if my parents let me buy what I wanted, then I'd stop wanting what I wanted to buy in the first place xDDD see how my mind works? See? Reverse psychology xDDD
