From the slightly delusional mind of Megan...
Lacy

Lacy sat in her room and stared up at the moon. Downstairs, her parents were having yet another fight.
“No Karen! Stop bringing it up!” Her dad yelled. Lacy rolled her eyes and slid her window open. She shivered as a cool breeze flowed into her room. She walked silently to her closet and pulled out her favorite sweatshirt. It was black and a bit faded, but comfortable and warm. She crept back to her window and climbed out onto the roof of the porch. From there she used the light from the full moon to help her find her way down the trellis.

Since her friend Amy was gone visiting family in Arkansas, Lacy had nowhere to go. But that worked for her. She ambled down the street humming quietly to herself. She would go home before morning, her parents wouldn’t look for her until then. Lacy turned the corner just as her stomach growled. “crap” she muttered. She kept walking until she reached the 7-11 on the next block. Lacy went inside and bought herself a soda and a bagel.

When she finished she threw her napkin away and continued walking while sipping her soda. Headlights washed over her. She smirked and paused on the sidewalk as she watched a silver car get closer. It was a convertible filled with four teenage boys, about sixteen or seventeen years old. When they were about twenty feet away Lacy began to shake up her soda. None of the boys looked at her, they were to busy listening to their blaring music and talking to one another. As they passed her she opened the lid, showering them with soda.

Lacy dropped her drink and began laughing hysterically. But as the guys in the car stopped at the stop sign they turned and glared at her. She made a face at them. The driver pulled the car over and got out. The others followed. Lacy was still laughing when she began to run. The had to wait to pull over, so she had quite a head start, about the length of a football field. But she couldn’t run forever. Lacy quickly turned the corner and raced through the mall parking lot. By now she had stopped laughing. The four boys were catching up.
