Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email.
Please be informed that as a Singapore Citizen, you are liable for NS. You have
to email your intention to the following :-

You may wish to note that under Article 128(1) of the Constitution of the
Republic of Singapore, any citizen of Singapore who wishes to renounce Singapore
citizenship has to fulfill the following 3 conditions:

b) is of sound mind
c) is also or is about to become a citizen of another country
Since your son is under 21 years of age, he is not eligible to renounce his
Singapore citizenship at this moment. He may approach this office on the

As your child is also a Singapore citizen by descent/registration, he
is required to take the Oath of Renunciation, Allegiance & Loyalty within 12
months on attaining the age of 21 years. If he fails to do so, he will
automatically lose his Singapore citizenship on attaining the age of 22 years.
