Of dreamscapes and insanity
Whatever comes to mind, that I feel the need to share here.
Such is Your Smile [[Poem]]
You used to smile so often
But oh, that was so long ago
That the instances have blurred together
Like unique flakes into a blanket of snow.
Your lips still curve upward
With mechanized grace,
But it’s like looking through frosted glass
Chilled, warped, and misplaced.
Unsettled, I breathe on the frozen pane
And polish it clean with my sleeve
But only my side is clear now
With my reflection frowning back at me.
This imposter burns at my flesh
And wears me down to the bone.
I can’t help but feel that as I forget your smile
I’m slowly losing sight of my own.
