Yes!!! I finally got my hands on this game. I was lucky enough to get one of the Black Edition copies. For all you Need For Speed fans out there, this is a MUST own game. If you already own it, then while playing it you should get some flashbacks from the previous Need For Speed games. Confused? Well let me explain. If you havent figured it out yet, Need For Speed Most Wanted is a combination of most of the other Need For Speed games. The police, some of the terrain, and Italian cars, are from Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. There are many more pieces from the other Need For Speed games but now that you know this, I'll let you figure it out on your own. The biggest change going from Need For Speed Underground 2 to this game is that now, your parts on your vehicle actually make a difference. Each body kit has its strong and weak points. Same goes with the rear spoilers. So think twice about what you are buying! All because it looks cool, it may not make your car perform the way you want it to. And since we are talking about spoilers let me just bring up that, spoilers do NOT make your car faster! I hate it when people say that they do. What they do is create a greater downforce on the rear end of your car so then your vehicle will have more stability on the road. For the most part, you do not need to worry about visual appearence as much as you would in the other games. Really, the only purpose of changing your cars looks is to make your bounty level go down. Some new things in the game is that now, you can do a break stand before you take off in a race! As fun as this is to watch your car create more smoke than the opponents, doing a break stand slows down your cars acceleration on the take off. The best thing to do is wait until the countdown is at 1 and then hold down the gas. If you do this right, you should get off the line a lot quicker than everyone else. If you havent noticed, but when you rev. your engine, your needle will turn a different color at one point and then go back to its original color. What that is, is your perfect shift mark. If you can hit that when the count down hits zero, then you should burn everyone off the line and get ahead of everyone by about 1.4 seconds. With drag races its different though. Unless if you try and be perfect and attempt to get the perfect shift every time, you should take off the line on an over rev. Even though it slows you down a bit, it should be easy pickings to get all the other perfect shifts and win. One thing that makes this game easier for all us racers is the D-pad button options. Obviously, you should know that the pressing right brings you up in your cell phone. The left button brings up the city map and all of the shops, car dealerships, your houses, and races. Pressing down brings up the races, milestones, bounty, bio, and some other stuff. If your low on money or bounty, heres what u can do. Press down on the D-pad and then press D-pad up.
