Dear Die-ary ...
Skittles: Taste the randomness.
A sleepless night that killed a village - Part I
As snow fell from the dark, starless sky, aloft in the breezes that both pressed daggers of cold against your cheeks and waltzed slowly with the air, something had occured that the villagers would regret deeply not noticing.

A little girl that had not slept at all that night had wandered out in the dark corners of the small village. Not a soul was about, for it was forbidden to step outside among the darkness hours.

She was a girl of about seven, with radiant mahogany hair that had frozen particles of ice clinging to it. Her wide, innocent deep brown eyes reflected the happiness you were feeling, no matter how deep inside of you, no matter how bright. It was there, smiling back at you, even if she wasn't.

The girl felt a chill upon her shoulder that was colder than the freezing air. She swiveled around to find no one, not even a footprint... she thought it was her lack of sleep that was making her see and believe things, as her mother said to her many a time.

Yet she saw a shadow that writhed and pulsated with an evil greater than any she had ever known. It lunged at her, enveloping her body, then growing smaller, smaller, smaller. The girl collapsed, snowflakes covering her body, a deep cut on her forehead coloring the snow a blood red.

This is a little story I composed about a year ago, when my writing sucked.

I found the sheet of paper, and decided to polish it off a little bit. ^-^

Comments are appreciated.
