Dustin is my best friend from school (or one of them, I don't really have a "best" best friend... except for Crysta). He was home from college for a couple of weeks and he decided to invite my brother and me over to his house for some old school messing around.

He had a game called "Guitar Hero." That was the most unique and engaging game I've played for years. Most unique and engaging arcade style game, that is. The controller is this funky guitar with five buttons on the fret and a "switch" that you strum as you hold down the fret keys. It also has a whammy bar. Anyway, the object of the game is like in DDR: follow the onscreen commands and enter them correctly for points. Using the whammy bar on long notes garners extra points, and hitting difficult solos gets you some huge points (and F#CK are they hard sometimes).

The hardest song on there is easily Ozzy Osborne's "Bark At The Moon." My favorite is either Motorhead's "Ace of Spades," Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out," or Queen's "Killer Queen." I did best on Black Sabbath's "Iron Man," which is also a sweet tune.

Anyway, that game kicks a**, even if it forces you to look like a geek playing it. Being able to hit the notes on some hard solos garners you not only bragging rights, but the feeling that you are rocking out in a live show. XD
