Random Nightlusts
Part 3 - PROVEN
The days, long and slow, showed both how much they would miss
the other. Her lips would tingle, craving a kiss
From the demon she loved. Too prideful to
Admit she needed him, she went day to day to do
What had to be done for the coming winter.
She gathered wood. She cut and split, no splinter
Coming from handling this wood that would be used.
Hitomi just didn't want to be accused
Of missing that half-demon that was trying
For her hand. She would try to do nothing
Until she heard that he suceeded in
Proving his love. She would marry before she would sin
With him. She would marry him in the human way
Before they would mate. She wouldn't know what to say
To him before she knew of his defeat
Of a demon that was stronger than him. She seated
Herself one evening before she happened to faint.
She was worried that he would try to be a saint
And really attempt to find the strongest demon
To be able to prove his love for this woman.
Kiro was doing just that, wanting to show
That he was worthy to take her hand and make her glow
With love and pride that she was taken care
Of by a man that could care for her and be sure
That he would always be there for her for better
Or for worse. He was sore from walking farther
than he thought ever he would walk in a lifetime.
What kept him going was the thought of her chime
Of a laugh and her bright smile that would cheer him.
Fighting this demon was on his own whim.
This demon, he need not seek, for it came
To Kiro Uraya without a shame.
This demon heard of Kiro's quest to prove
That which all knew what was true. He was to prove his love
For that one human girl that had no protection.
Demons knew she was taken and held by affection
From this young half-demon known as Kiro.
This demon that came forth thought that he was so
Much better than a half-demon with a mission.
He was to be proven wrong with simple fission
Of his arms and legs by a trick of this young one.
....."You have yet to win. By the end, I shall have won
And I shall claim your head as my great prize."

....."I believe you not. You judge me by size,
And you underestimate me greatly.
I will have what I came here for surely!"

Kiro released a battle cry, charging towards
That cocky demon, only to be knocked backwards
And fall to the ground. He got back up and tried
Again and again. He had never shided
Away from a challenge before. Why start now?
Already, the seed had been planted and now to sow
What he had begun. Again and again,
He attacked, but each time, he would again begin.
the demon never tired of what he saw
As child's play. He slithered and he crawled,
Toying with his prey for just awhile before
He would end it. Kiro wouldn't let him. He soared
Into the sky, blinding the demon by the sun.
Coming down atop him, the demon was shunned
And his head removed. Leaving its body there,
Kiro took the head and carried it to share
And show that he proved his worthiness to have her
Hand. Her sickness, he would completely cure.
