Chapter 1 Strange Meeting
Every story usually begins in the same way as most stories. What do I mean by this you ask hm....? Well fairy tales begin like Once a upon a time, other like Long long ago, also like deep in the forest, or a few others. But doesn't it get trying hearing or well reading those same lines over and over in many stories. I know I do and so well this story shall begin very differently as it should be quite different from other stories as this is about my adventures.

The air had a crisp, clean, refreshing scent to the evening breeze as a young man was walking down a dusty road. This young man had lovely golden brown eyes and short jet black hair that moved slightly in the evening breeze. He wore long black trench coat, faded back slacks, and black boots: which were a bit lightened up from the dust the breeze sort of picked up. He had pulled his hood up to try and keep himself a bit warmer since the breeze begun to give him goose bumps. He sighed softly to himself as he had been walking for quite sometime and hadn't found a town or city. That was until he walked into a pole making him fall onto his back causing a soft grunt in pain. He laid there for a moment as he was trying to recollect himself and figure out what had just happened. Finally, he sat up slowly to see a sign reading 'Welcome to Dinguard'. He chuckled softly as he was glad he had found a city after walking so long and wanting to sleep in a bed instead of the cold ground. He got up brushing himself off causing plenty of dust to fall and grabbed his bag as he headed toward the gates of the city.

The city was very lively this time of night as many shops were out trying to sell things to people passing by but having no luck. A small girl was fighting the crowds as she was trying to get somewhere and looked like she was in a great hurry. She wasn't paying much attention to things as she ran into someone, knocking her down in which her bag spilled a few things. The young girl groaned softly in pain as she sat up and then jumped a bit seeing a hand being held out towards her. Looking up she saw a young, who didn't look like he was from around here. Her clues were his dusty clothes, also his bag and the way he dressed wasn't normal. Timidly, the girl took the young man's hand being pulled up gently back onto her feet and seeing a kind smile towards her. The young man picked up her things noticing a sketch book opened on a couple dancing, it had caught his eye and interest. The girl had taken her pencil, chalk, and a few other drawing tools putting it back in her bag. She then noticed the young man holding and carefully studying her sketches making her blush softly.

"These are very beautiful.....since skill, such care and tenderness you give to these," young man's voice a lovely deep but soft.
"T-thank you...." I timidly replied.
"Oh sorry here. My name is Drakel. What's your name, Miss?" The young man had asked the girl.
"J-jade.......nice to meet you Drakel," I replied again softly.

The young man named Drakel chuckled softly as he looked at the young girl named Jade. She had lovely wintry white hair, in an elegant braid reaching to her lower back. The light from the city made her hair have a silver shimmer to it as it brought out her beautiful forest colored eye. Her skin was a very pale peach, making her seem as if she was molded of porcelain, which made him feel as if he was looking at an angel. Drakel had been looking at me for over a minute as if he were studying me with those deep golden brown eyes. I blushed softly as no one had every looked at me this way before and I really didn’t know how to react. Neither of us spoke for what seem like hours, when in reality it was just moments. After a few more seconds I had to break the silence even though it was very noisy where we stood. I bite my lower lip lightly as my eyes looked down towards the ground. I thought a moment on my word choices as I didn’t want to sound like mumbling fool. But before I could say anything a guy ran passed us pushing me, making me lose balance and fall. I never touched the ground as Drakel dove under me breaking my fall. I felt his arms wrap around my waist protectively.

“Jade, are you all right? You’re not hurt are you?” Drakel spoke to me in a worried tone.
“Y-yeah I’m fine. J-just…” I spoke in a very shaken voice.
“Just….just what? Tell me.” Drakel asked once more, concern ringing in his voice.
“Just….shaken up, is all. I’m fine.” I replied.

Drakel had sighed in relief when hearing I wasn’t hurt and I was okay. He sat up still holding my waist finally, letting his arms unwrap themselves from its protective hold. I didn’t quite move yet as I was still shaking and my heart was still beat much too fast. Drakel didn’t say anything but place me next to him, making me jump and causing my heart to race again from the sudden action. He couldn’t help but laugh lightly at my react to his movements and when he realized he had laughed he’d covered his mouth. By this point I was probably as red as a cherry, no, maybe more like a tomato or beet. Drakel stood up brushing himself off a bit when he noticed I still hadn’t moved. He held out his hand toward me smiling the same smile when I first bumped into him. I didn’t know why but I felt safe around him, like I had nothing to fear, and that he would protect me. He probably noticed I was blushing as I tried to keep my face a bit hidden. I’ll admit I was rather embarrassed by what happened in the last half an hour. I finally took his hand, as he pulled me up gently only for me to fall and grab my left ankle. A few tears escaped my eyes, sliding down my cheek, and I bit my lower lip slightly as trying not to scream or cry out in pain.

“Jade!” Drakel sort of shouting out.
“It hurts……” As I replied but continued to repeat those words.
“Hold on I’ll carry you to a doctor!” He answered in a scared tone.

Before I could say anything, I felt the ground under me disappear and grabbed onto Drakel’s trench coat. He placed his left arm behind my back as his right arm was under my knees and began walking toward the city gates. He seems to know where he was going as he was heading in the right direction. Each step he took sent a sharp pain through me as my ankle hurt and looked rather swollen. I must have twisted it when I fell after being pushed by that guy. We reached the doctor’s place and walked in or well he walked in carrying me. The doctor took us into the back area and I was placed down on a table. The doctor was looking at my ankle; he moved it just a bit here and there causing waves of pain through my whole body. He had confirmed my guess earlier; I did in fact twist it and would have to stay off it for about a week. I realized my life that night had changed forever and things for me were probably going to get a lot worse.
