She needed someone to trust
To hold her tight
Because she knew everything wasn't alright
Innocent eyes see so much
Though tears and smiles
And laughter and fears
Who said it would get better
After it got worse?
Have they lived to see the day
When no one listened
To the cry of the innocent
And the scared
Where wrong colors means
Run and run fast
Because that heartbeat won't last
Forever and ever
She felt this pain
Of the world crumbling
Like it had been slain
She never dared to ask
Was it like this in the past
Because she knew
That they would point and laugh
Eyes black and green
No there is no in between
The eyes reflect the soul
So they say
That's why so many are blind
These days
And she used to cry
Thouse laughing tears
Knowing all too well
That all that she fears
Is reality
Finally it has become
What we know
Something we can't escape
And there is no undoing the past
Where we wished we hadn't laughed
At all the mistakes
And all the failures
Because they hurt so much
After its all said and done
She smiles and sighs
Before leaving the crowd
Wiping tears from her eyes
