The Revelations of My World
The Butterfly Chose a Dark Day to Live........
Inside, you sit with the Christmas light twinkle.
I am outside with the snow a sprinkle.
Clutching the lamp post, I shudder.
A door opens and my heart gives a flutter.
Turning my head, hoping it's you,
Sadly it wasn't, and I think of what to do.
People begin to stare outside at me.
They turn away as I glance to see.
But now they get worried for it was getting colder.
Wondering where you were, I glance over my shoulder.
I finally collapse onto my knees,
Coughing and giving a loud wheeze.
No, I'm going to stay,
Like I have for the whole day.
Rubbing my hands together, I heard a creak.
An old man came out of his house. What is it that he wanted to seek?
A flower rested in his hand.
Is he alone? This old man?
He slowly walked up to the lampost and placed the flower down.
People shook their heads and gave off a frown.
----------
He bowed his head and silently cried.
Yes, it's true, I have died.
----------
For 60 years straight,
I was standing at the lampost bearing a long wait.
Hoping that he will forgive me,
I waited that cold night, see?
But it was too cold and he never came out.
I saw him through the window and on his face was a pout.
I couldn't hold the snow anymore.
If he wouldn't forgive me, what should I live for?
----------
Weeping on the snow covered ground,
The next morning was when my body was found.
----------
Now here I am,
Standing behind the crying man.
Sixty years...It took...But you finally forgave me...Thank you...
He turned around startled, "Who-?"
But I was already gone and forgiven.
I died that night because our love was forbidden.
