Of An End to the Trials
Rose and An End to the Trials

As something swooped through the clearing and decimated Regg (which made Rose much more happy, as she knew the identity of the traitor), Rose looked around. No one else was coming forward. She waited, and a few minutes passed.

The sun was going down already, the light filtering through into the clearing having a strange pink tint to it; odd considering the usual greenness. As this occurred, the entire Council stood.

"The Third Trial has ended." Philli reported. He looked to both sides. "Any Council member here who has any doubts about Princess Rose's right to rule may sit, and thereby vote against her. She must retain two-thirds of the Council's approval to be crowned."

As he said this, Philli looked to the others.

Rose watched the entire line of the Council, and held her breath. Seconds passes. More seconds. Not one single member of the Council moved- they all stayed standing. Glancing over at Kyrre, Rose saw his wide grin. She'd never seen him smile like that before- no hidden worries lingered behind his joy this time. Quickly looking back to the Council, she could no longer contain her smile.

"We, the Council of the White Hand, presiding over Green Shade and the entire Southern Gaian Kitsunes, hereby announce that Princess Rose shall be crowned our Queen, tonight."

Rose didn't even get a chance to concentrate on who said it. She felt numb- but thrilled! After all the questioning, she felt certain that the kitsunes didn't want her, and that would sway the Council against her. But she was wrong. Happily, completely wrong. It was a test, for certain. But by the joyous roar that suddenly rang out throughout the clearing, Rose now felt certain that these people actually wanted her to rule.

Rose beamed, and looked happily over to Kyrre and Dragon. This. Was. Amazing!

Kyrre's smile softened- holding no less joy, but possibly a bit of something else along with it. He walked up to Rose. He had to raise his voice to be heard over the crowd.

"They would usually have to wait for a Coronation. But they wait for a Full Moon- which happens to be tonight, which is why this was such perfect timing."

Rose threw her arms around him in a big hug, before realizing she didn't even know if he was much of a hugger, or if that was bad form for kitsunes. She let go and stood back.

"I'm sorry, I-" Rose started, but got cut off.

"Don't ever apologize, Princess Rose." Kyrre said, his smile not faded in the least. "That's not a... normal thing for a Princess to do, true... but what about this- besides the rituals- is normal?" he laughed.

Rose turned, and walked over to Dragon. She knew that her Godmother was... well, probably in the worst condition she'd been in in years.

Rose gave her a big hug, too. Of course, she went ahead and gave her a bit more than that; she used her Healing abilities to ease Dragon's pain, strengthen her body again, and fix the damage done by the electrocution she'd gotten.

"Well, you going to hang around and watch me become Queen?" Rose asked, laughing through her words. She heard from behind her as Sahm and Trella caught up to Kyrre, and Trella was insisting that she needed to get Princess Rose ready immediately, as they would have to begin the ceremony in an hour, or in another moon cycle, and she wasn't going to wait for that. Rose winced, remembering that she had given Trella exclusive rights as Royal Shaman or something like that, and that Trella was going to continue to treat Rose like a petulant child unless she accepted the power Trella now held, completely. This would be a fun night, for sure.

Well, thus ends the trials. Honestly, I had envisioned something a lot more... well, vivid, colorful, lengthy, and annoying.
But thanks to a certain Dynasty, much of that was avoided. I only regret that it still took as long in the telling as it would have for a longer version. I blame... my procrastination.

Everyone who knows Rose is welcome to simply show up at the coronation. Trella will have sent out foxfire invites- they look like little red butterflies but are as fast as wind. When they land, they are then simply red paper, with their message written on them.

No, you don't have to send another, and no, I don't promise not to eat it.

In fact, I referenced eating in my journal. >3
