{{ The *'s every now and then aren't for actions but noting certain things at the bottom of the post just in case. I get weird I guess. gonk }}

It's been about a day or two since Yuudai had been permitted to rise in rank, receiving enough reccomendations in order for that to happen over a set period of time beforehand. Some knew of him- most not so much since he was obscure, but everyone else in the Kido Corps as well did their business in secret. Others didn't really give a damn. That was just how things were, working away from the limelight and preferring to keep things confidential.

Tessai, the man who held the title of Kido Chief approximately a hundred years ago was a staunch, urbane man who even broke the law to do what he felt was the right thing. Yuudai Ikeda on the other hand, was a tall willowy man with a personality that at best, would be described as "scrooge-like". Not a person that was good to idolize. His actions differed from his his accursed attitude just a little, since at least he managed to obey the law.

As of now? Yuudai's more explorative side wanted to take a look around the sections he did not get the chance to see. Those who showed promise in the academy in kido were often sent directly to the Kido Corps, not being put out here with divisions one through thirteen. Yuudai's azure coat was very much like Tessai's, however the collar was not present but instead looked more like a haori- save for the insignia of the Kido Corps on both sides of the chest. Beneath that, it was just the standard Shinigami uniform. Not long ago, he had come across Eleventh Division and thought just to grate their nerves that he'd pay a visit.

To them, he'd perhaps be the "pansy of all pansies", but because of his authority he'd have little chance of getting into some real trouble. However, with Kenpachi who was on the same level as he concerning his rank*, that was the threat there. Keep his jabs subtle perhaps.

Thus, when he had made it to the entrance of the headquarters, the tall man tapped the door with his staff- loud enough to hear but not obnoxiously. He'd reserve his peskiness when the time was right. "Hello?" At least then, he sounded polite but that was just setting things up for the what he was planning out.

"One second!" A male voice called out. The sound of footsteps could be heard therein, then abruptly stopped as the entrance slid open and there was a man who had a shiny, bald head and scarlet on the outer edges of his eyes. At first, his expression looked more neutral, but upon seeing the staff, the robe and even Yuudai's build his mouth turned into a slight frown and his eyes had disdain he wanted to make apparent but not to a blatant degree. Ikkaku, Third seat of Eleventh.

Before any questions could be asked, Yuudai tapped the bottom of his staff on the wooden porch a bit, raising his eyebrows and donning a grin that seemed amiable. "I would like to see your captain, if he is not busy. If so, then I do plan to come back later on." That alone was what made Ikkau think -'God damn it, let's just get this done and over with! The sooner his a** is outta here, the better!'-
With that being thought, he turned to look behind him to see his Captain- stepping out of Yuudai's way.

"Captain, the Kido Chief wants to speak with you." Yumichika who was nearby pursed his lips and glanced over to the side- having a bad feeling about this as Yuudai's head poked inside. "It won't be long, it's just going to be a couple of questions I hope you could answer for me." Yumichika had his own little dirty secret regarding kido, since his shikai was kido-based after all- so his disdain wasn't nearly as bad as his friend's. Regardless, he just knew this was a recipe for trouble.

It was not too long ago that Ichigo's friend, Uryuu had come over with a rather grim air around him. Isshin may have been silly, but he certainly wasn't stupid. It could have been anything, but when he saw the suitcase- it wasn't something petty. At least Ichigo was there for his friends, Isshin glad that his son was someone one could depend on.

Recently, he got up from his couch to go over to the kitchen area- hands in his dark gray pants pockets as he stood in front of the poster of Masaki which had been there year after year. Today was their wedding anniversary, which always did make him emotional. His mouth a straight line, he remembered the day of their wedding- revisiting that memory often each anniversary along with others that they shared together until her grim death. Then after a while of thinking, Isshin's mind had wandered over to an old friend and the choice he made: It's either her, or him. Taking a hand out of his pocket to straighten up the collar on his long-sleeved white shirt, wondering how his old friend was.

With a small chuckle, he knew they were more than 'just friends'. Isshin had been a bit of a player back in the day, but he was wiser now than he was then too.

"Hey, Dad! Some weird blonde guy is at the door and is asking for you!" Karin called out, she holding the entrance open while furrowing her brow at the tongue ring he showed off. Her family had known a bunch of weird people, but how the hell did her Dad come across this? And more importantly, who was he anyhow? Looked to not be too much older than Ichigo. Her fraternal twin sister, who was doing dishes put up a plate and went to peek into the hall in the direction of the door to see someone with curly blonde hair standing in front of Karin. "Dad, who is he?" Yuzu inquired, glancing over at her Dad who was finished with his trip down memory lane. Raising an eyebrow, Isshin didn't exactly know any blonde men that would certainly come over here, save for his patients at the clinic but they wouldn't come here.

Stepping into the hall, once he saw the door and that familiar face he felt his blood run cold. Now that was a face he couldn't forget- sure the hair was different but there was no way... why did Solaris come here after all this time? Isshin chose Masaki, so it must have burned pretty bad and he hadn't see the blonde ever since. "The hell...?" Regaining his composure, Isshin quickly walked over to the door and placed a hand on Karin's shoulder while donning a grin that looked a bit crooked. "Pardon my kid, she's just very straightforward! This is one of my daughters, Karin." Karin frowned a little at the remark about her bluntness, looking up at her Father then brushing it off. Isshin however, had to resist the urge to actually hug Solaris, which was an odd reaction nonetheless since he hadn't seen him in how long? While Isshin stepped out of the way to let him in, Karin walked off to the kitchen area.

Solaris didn't know anything besides Isshin marrying Masaki. Nothing about her death, or his children. Quite a lot happened since then. "A lot of stuff's happened since I last saw you, how've you been? Come on in." Taking a step out of the door, he placed a hand on the blonde's back and gave a gentle push to urge him on. No way would he let him just say something and leave if he planned on that, not a chance in hell.

Ichigo had a halfway decent day so far. Today usually set him in a melancholy mood. Despite his age, he was still sensitive about the issue of his Mother, remembering how kind and gentle she was in his younger days but what he remembered most was her death. Needless to say, on his parents' wedding anniversary he preferred to be more of a recluse but didn't have much of a choice when his best friend dealt with troubles of his own. Like always, for Uryuu- he was willing to help.

He had to depart for a moment to get something to drink, wearing a gray-blue t-shirt with an odd scarlet abstract design on the lower left and fitted blue jeans. Sock-covered feet padded down the stairs, hearing his Father's voice not far off and hearing him say what sounded like a greeting. Pausing at the foot of the steps for a moment, the orange-haired teen made his way to the living room and saw there was some blonde man with curly hair with his Father. The person didn't look much older than Ichigo himself, and not only that- he had never seen him before in his life! His Dad was touching his back, acting as if he knew him before... and although Ichigo wasn't the extremely possessive type it made him feel uncomfortable. Looking a bit stern, he briskly turned into the kitchen and made his way over to the fridge- Karin preparing a glass of water.

"Hey Ichi, do you know who that guy is?" Karin inquired, turning off the faucet and chugging down the liquid afterwards. Opening the fridge, Ichigo arched an eyebrow and reached in to grab two cans of coke, looking at his sister from the corner of his eye while pulling away and closing the door on the aforementioned kitchen appliance. "Never have, but Dad sure seems to. He's probably just here to visit." --"That's right, and that's all it would be."-- Looking over at Yuzu who was still looking at their Dad and his friend was very curious but didn't seem to think he was bad so far. "He doesn't look weird, Karin... if Dad knows him, he's probably a good guy."

Ichigo, who had a more important issue to deal with shrugged a shoulder and began go back to his room- carrying a can in each hand while going upstairs. Uryuu had been out of his home, and didn't have a place to live now. The days before he came here were pretty hellish and Ichigo really wished his friend came here sooner so he wouldn't have dealt with that in the first place. It wasn't long at all until he was at the door of his bedroom, pushing the slightly ajar door open with his foot. "Hey Uryuu, I didn't know if you wanted any soda, but I got you one anyway." Seating himself down on the bed, Ichigo was right across from the Quincy- holding a can out to him. "Exactly how long have you been stuck in a hotel before coming here? If you need a place to stay, we'd have to share my room but it's far better than wondering how you are without a place to live you know." Saying this, the substitute Shinigami's tone was kind but still had a stern edge to it- he opening his soda can. Letting the fizz die down a little, Ichigo took a sip but after that looked directly at Uryuu expectantly for an answer.

Uryuu losing almost everything was going to only be the beginning of Ichigo's problems. Oh how little he knew.

((*The Kido Chief is basically at the same level as a captain, just specifying in a certain field. Just saying in case.))
